Systems and Apparatus for a personal ventilation system that provides a personalized column of clean air surrounding a user's space is presented. The personal ventilation system includes an air purifier with a fan and an annular gap downstream of the fan. The annular gap has an inner radius that is within 95% of the outer radius. The annular gap structure allows the air purifier to produce a column of air with an entrainment ratio lower than other commercially available fan. At a distance of 1.5 meters, the air purifier is configured to have an entrainment ratio of lower than 40%. The air purifier also has a removable filter located upstream of the fan. The ventilation system is capable of delivering highly-localized filtered air to a user or location.

In addition, the user can remotely monitor sensed data collected by the air purification system, such as via an app downloaded onto the user's mobile device. In addition, one or more settings of the air purification system can be directly or remotely adjusted (e.g., via the user's mobile device).

A method and system is provided for reducing produced water disposal volumes utilizing waste heat generated by thermal oxidation. Waste heat generated by thermal oxidation can be used to vapourize excess water, and to treat and scrub the water vapour for final release into the atmosphere. The system can utilize excess heat remaining after thermal oxidation to produce water vapour.

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control system generates a request to replace a first air filter installed in an air handler of an HVAC system with a second air filter. The second air filter has a particulate matter removal efficiency rating that is greater than a particulate matter removal efficiency rating of the first filter. The system delays for a predetermined period of time and then obtains (i) a first temperature of air downstream of the air handler and (ii) a second temperature of air upstream of the air handler. The system then calculates a temperature difference between the f temperatures and determines whether the temperature difference is within an acceptable range. In response to the temperature difference being within the acceptable range, the system (i) operates the HVAC system using the second air filter and (ii) generates an alert indicating compatibility of the second air filter.

Systems and methods for optimization of occupied space comfort, air quality, and energy consumption

Systems and methods of holistically controlling a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system and a multi-contaminant air cleaner (MCAC) are disclosed. The method includes sensing, via at least one HVACR sensor, at least one comfort parameter; sensing, via at least one MCAC sensor, at least one air-quality parameter; determining, via a controller, minimum air changes of the HVACR system based on the at least one comfort parameter; and determining, via the controller, equivalent air changes of the MCAC and an indoor air quality (IAQ) score based on the at least one air-quality parameter. The method also includes controlling an operation of the HVACR system and controlling an operation of the MCAC based on the determined air changes to optimize an energy consumption.

The central control unit is connected to the computer to facilitate the control of the central water-cooled air quality regulators and connected to the chiller. The water pipes connected to the chiller are connected to a cooling tower on top of the building and to the central water-cooled air quality regulators at the stories of the building respectively to cool down the building and regulate air quality therein.

The pollution monitoring system comprises an on-board sensor unit having a plurality of sensors, configured for monitoring air quality by measuring pollution data in the air and a power control unit connected with the on-board sensor unit for controlling the operation of the on-board sensor unit. The pollution monitoring system further comprises microcontroller configured for generating control signals to be transmitted to the power control unit for controlling operation of on-board sensor unit. The microcontroller is configured for receiving information from a base station regarding operation of the on-board sensor unit. Further, the pollution monitoring system comprises an air purification unit configured for receiving the pollution data from the microcontroller and enabling activation or deactivation of the air purification unit based on comparison of the pollution data with predefined threshold values.

An ultraviolet light source disposed in the plenum is connected in electrical communication with the supplied power and is configured to generate ultraviolet radiation in the plenum. A permeable metal barrier disposed in the plenum is configured to impede the air flow therethrough up to an impedance threshold. The barrier is connected in electrical communication to the supplied power and is heated to a surface temperature.
