A filter element (1) has an inner body (12) and an outer body (11). One casing body (12) has a cross section deviating from circularity. Body contact surfaces (20, 21) face one another for the contact of essentially all filter folds (18a-18f, 18.sub.I-18.sub.III) of a pleated filter web (10). The filter folds (18a-18f, 18.sub.I-18.sub.III), in terms of fold height (h), are divided into individual groups (I, II) each having several filter folds (18.sub.I-18.sub.II) of a common fold height (h.sub.max, h.sub.min) alongside one another in sections. Between two adjacent filter folds (18a-18f, 18.sub.I-18.sub.III) of different groups (I, II) filter folds are arranged (18b-18e; 18m) of at least one third group (III). An air filtration media pack is provided having a plurality of layers of single facer media. The layer of single facer media includes a fluted sheet, a facing sheet, and a plurality of flutes extending between the fluted sheet and the facing sheet and having a flute length extending from a first face of the filtration media pack to a second face of the filtration media pack. A first portion of the plurality of flutes are closed to unfiltered air flowing into the first portion of the plurality of flutes, and a second portion of the plurality of flutes are closed to unfiltered air from flowing out of the second portion of the plurality of flutes so that air passing into one of the first face and the second face of the media pack and out the other of the first face and the second face of the media pack passes through media to provide filtration of the air. The fluted sheet includes repeating internal peaks facing toward the facing sheet and repeating external peaks facing away from the facing sheet. In addition, the fluted sheet can include at least one ridge extending along at least 50% of the flute length between an internal peak and an adjacent external peak. Additional characterizations of an air filtration media pack, air filtration media, and methods of making and using are provided.

Filter media is described that includes a filtration substrate having a first side and a second side, and constructed for filtering a fluid by flow of the fluid therethrough from the first side to the second side or from the second side to the first side. The filtration substrate has a first edge and a second edge, and a first end and a second end, wherein the filtration substrate has a machine direction extending from the first end to the second end, and a cross direction extending from the first side to the second side. The filtration substrate includes a plurality of corrugations located in the cross direction and extending in the machine direction. The plurality of corrugations include a plurality of first crests formed along the first side of the filtration substrate and a plurality of second crests formed along the second side of the filtration substrate. The filtration substrate includes a plurality of bosses located along the plurality of first crests or along the plurality of second crests and extending in a direction away from the other of the plurality of first crests or the plurality of second crests. Media packs, filter elements, and methods of making are provided.

Filter media packs, methods of making and filter media presses

The disclosure is directed toward presses which may comprise planar or curved press plates that can be driven toward and away from each other such as via linear reciprocating movement to press filter media sheets as opposed to using rolls. The press plates can create such features as embossments that may have the ridges and grooves, brands, creases or other such features. The press can create pleated packs or individual panels for non-pleated packs. Additionally, a variety of embossed pleat packs, unique shapes, structural components and other pleat packs that may be formed by presses or other methodology are disclosed as well as filter cartridges using such pleat packs.

The invention relates to the technical field of filtering equipment, and discloses a dust removal filter cartridge. The dust removal filter cartridge includes a filter material and a filter net arranged in the filter material. A top cover is arranged on a top end of the filter material, and an air outlet is provided in the top cover. A bottom end of the filter material is sealed with a bottom cover. An inner side of the filter material is provided with binding tapes which are adhesively fixed on the filter material. An outer surface of the filter material is an effective filtering surface for dust removal, and the binding tapes are arranged on the inner side of the filter material. During the dust removal process, filtering area of an outer surface of a filter paper increases, and the filtering effect is good.

A filter pack includes a pleated filter medium and spacing members that maintain a distance between adjacent mountain or valley folded portions of the filter medium. The filter medium includes pairs of extension portions that extend to both sides of folds of the filter medium and face each other when filter medium is folded. The plurality of spacing members include paired spacing members that are respectively provided on the extension portions so as to linearly extend in a direction that is orthogonal to the folds. The paired spacing members are in contact with each other when the filter medium is folded. Surfaces of the paired spacing members that come into contact with each other each include a flat surface that extends in a direction that is orthogonal to a direction in which the spacing members face each other when viewed along an extending direction of the spacing members.
