A filter for cleaning air includes: a housing; layers of a filter medium, the layers being arranged in the housing; and separator plates. One separator plate is arranged between each two layers of the filter medium. The separator plates are provided with a perforation. In an embodiment, the separator plates are fluted, corrugated, or folded.

AIR FILTER UNIT AND AIR CONDITIONER

An air conditioner of the present disclosure includes a fan filter unit whose power consumption efficiency determined by the following equation is 600 kWh/(m.sup.2.Math.yr) or less when the fan filter unit is operated in such a manner that blowing efficiency η of a fan is 0.75. In the following equation, Q represents a nominal flow rate (m.sup.3/sec) of an air filter unit, ΔP represents a pressure loss (Pa) of the air filter unit measured when air passes through the air filter unit at the nominal flow rate of the unit, and S represents an opening area (m.sup.2) of the air filter unit. Equation: power consumption efficiency kWh/(m.sup.2.Math.yr)={(Q×ΔP)/(η×1000)}×(24×365)/S. The air conditioner of the present disclosure is suitable for reducing power consumption even when including the air filter unit which is large in size and has high filtration performance. An air filter unit of the present disclosure is suitable for the air conditioner of the present disclosure.

PLEATED AIR FILTER WITH REINFORCING FILAMENTS COMPRISING LOCALLY-THINNED BENDING ZONES

A pleated air filter media with a plurality of continuous-contact reinforcing filaments on at least one face of the pleated air filter. The filaments have locally-thinned bending zones each of which is registered with pleat tip or pleat valley of the pleated air filter media.

PLEATED AIR FILTER WITH BRIDGING FILAMENTS AND CONTINUOUS-CONTACT FILAMENTS

A pleated air filter media is provided. The pleated air filter media comprises a plurality of upstream linear bridging filaments that are extrusion-bonded to at least some of a plurality of upstream pleat tips of a fibrous web, and a plurality of downstream continuous-contact filaments that are extrusion-bonded to a downstream face of the fibrous web. Methods of making and using the same are also provided.

PLEATED CHANNEL FLOW FILTER AND/OR ROLL FORM METHOD

A roll forming method may be used to provide a pleated filter media pack and filter cartridges with channels formed. The pack includes a strip of a filter media extending opposed edges and opposed front and back sides. The strip is pleat tips with spacer structure such as integrally formed embossments maintaining a spacing between pleat panels. The inlet and outlet flow faces are created by the edges of the filter media rather than the pleat tips. Alternating pairs of pleat panels are closed such as by seal beads at the inlet and outlet flow faces.

Filter media includes a filtration substrate having a first side and a second side, and constructed for filtering a fluid by flow of the fluid therethrough. The filtration substrate has a machine direction extending from a first end to a second end, and a cross direction extending from a first edge to a second edge. The filtration substrate includes a plurality of corrugations extending in the machine direction. The plurality of corrugations include a plurality of first crests formed along the first side and a plurality of second crests formed along the second side. The filtration substrate includes a plurality of bosses along the plurality of first crests or along the plurality of second crests and extending in a direction away from the other of the plurality of first crests or the plurality of second crests. Media packs, filter elements, and methods of making are provided.

Panel filter with molded frame and integral seal

A filter cartridge is provided. The filter cartridge includes a filter element comprising a filter media, and the filter element extends between an inlet face and an outlet face. The filter element defines a periphery surrounding the filter media. The filter cartridge also includes a border frame including a plurality of side panels, and the side panels are independently molded-in-place along the periphery of the filter element. Adjacent members of the side panels are joined together along a plurality of mold interface seams, and the mold interface seams are spaced around the periphery. The plurality of side panels are embedded in and seal the periphery of the filter element such that fluid flow inside the border frame is directed to pass through the filter media for filtering in order to pass from the inlet face to the outlet face.

The filter medium of the present disclosure includes a polytetrafluoroethylene porous membrane and an air-permeable base layer, has a pressure loss PL.sub.F of less than 40 Pa when air is passed therethrough at a linear velocity of 5.3 cm/sec, and has a collection efficiency CE.sub.F of 65% or more when a linear velocity of a gas to be filtered is set to 5.3 cm/sec and particle diameters of particles to be collected are set to be within a range of 0.3 to 0.5 μm. The filter medium of the present disclosure is a novel filter medium that can replace an electret medium and that can prevent a decrease in collection performance due to water vapor in the air, which is unavoidable in an electret medium.

FILTRATION MEDIA WITH EXTENDED SURFACE AREA

A filter media and methods are provided. The media is stretchable and exhibits a high degree of elongation which thereby extends its surface area during pleating. By extending surface area of media during pleating, the initial differential pressure is lowered as the area of media is stretched while keeping the same efficiency range with a compressed thickness of media on the affected area.
