CHANNEL-FRAMED, PLEATED AIR FILTER WITH BRIDGING FILAMENTS
A rigid, channel-framed, pleated air filter, with a plurality of linear bridging filaments on at least an upstream face of the pleated air filter media of the filter.
FILTER ELEMENT, AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY, AND METHODS
An air cleaner assembly includes a housing and a removable cover. A filter element is removably positioned in the housing. A two-part mating catch assembly includes a first part that is secured to the cover and a second part that is on one of the housing and the filter element. The first part and second part are positioned to releasable, mate when the filter element is operably mounted within the housing
Flexible filter element having an end outlet
The present description provides a filter element that includes an end or side portion attached breather tube. One exemplary filter element described herein includes filter media having front and rear walls each including a proximal end and a distal end, a side portion at the proximal ends of the front and rear walls, and an outlet. The filter element further includes a breather tube attached to the filter media in fluid communication with the outlet. The outlet is positioned at least partially on the side portion, and the front and rear walls of the filter media are joined together at least partially along a perimeter.
ZIGZAG-FOLDED NONWOVEN MATERIAL
The invention relates to a method for producing a zigzag-folded nonwoven material for a filter, wherein the nonwoven material is produced by a melt-spinning process, comprising the following work steps: folding the nonwoven material by means of a folding device, whereby a plurality of folds results, wherein the folds divide the nonwoven material into first limbs and second limbs such that the nonwoven material is folded in zigzag form; and subsequently welding a weld region of the first limb of a fold to at least one weld region of the second limb of a fold by means of a thermal-contact welding process, wherein a welded joint is formed between the two facing sides of the limbs of a fold. The invention furthermore relates to a corresponding apparatus and a corresponding nonwoven material.
FILTER ELEMENT HAVING INNER SUPPORT AND METHODS
A filter element includes a construction of pleated filter media defining an interior volume. First and second opposite end caps are secured to opposite ends of the filter media. A support structure supports the filter media and is operably oriented in the interior volume. The support structure extends from the first opposing interior face to the second opposing interior face. The support structure is provided to extend less than a full extension between the first end cap and second end cap.
Air filter media with post-pleat-deposited sorbent particles
An air filter media (10) including a pleated fibrous filtration web (8) with a first major side (2) that includes at least one sorbent-loaded area (26) in which sorbent particles (14) are present on a first major surface (25) of the pleated fibrous filtration web (8), at least some of the sorbent particles (14) being post-pleat-deposited sorbent particles.
FILTER BOX, AND METHOD OF INSULATING A FILTER BOX
A filter box mounts to an air intake opening of an air handler. The filter box includes an inner shell, insulator, and an outer shell. The inner shell is adapted to confine one or more filters therein. The inner shell defines an airflow channel from a front end opening of the inner shell through the filter(s) to a rear end opening of the inner shell. The outer shell defines a chamber from a front end opening of the outer shell to a rear end opening of the outer shell. The outer shell contains the inner shell in the chamber and the insulator is sandwiched between the outer shell and the inner shell. The inner shell and the outer shell are separated and spaced apart all over by the insulator and the insulator insulates and seals the inner shell from the outer shell.
Nestable framed pleated air filter and method of making
A nestable framed pleated air filter, including a non-self-supporting, compressible, pleated air filter media with a plurality of oppositely-facing pleats and with a plurality of upstream pleat tips and downstream pleat tips and downstream pleat valleys, the pleated air filter media further including a plurality of bridging filaments that are bonded to at least some of the upstream pleat tips. The filter includes a frame with sidewalls that are angled so that the framed pleated air filter is nestable.
FILTER MEDIA DESIGN USING SPACERS AND MEDIA IN PREDETERMINED ARRANGEMENTS
A media design for modular use in an air cleaning or HVAC systems to removes gas phase contaminants. The design allows for a control of gas contaminant removal using variable media length, path length, and contact time to ensure a contained MTZ length and low pressure drop. In one embodiment, the design includes a filter module at an angle to an airflow and an air filter mounted within the filter frame. The filter module may include channels therethrough that are oriented at the optimum angle in relation to the airflow to provide the required dwell time and pressure drop for a given application.
