GAS PURIFICATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
20170354916 · 2017-12-14 ·

A gas purification processing apparatus is described. The gas purification processing apparatus can control the generation of adsorption heat by an adsorbate substance in purification processing and thereby prevent desorption or ignition or the like of the adsorbate component by performing cooling processing on an adsorbent itself when needed. This advantageously ensures high adsorption efficiency with a simple and convenient configuration. During operation of the apparatus, gas is supplied from the source and purified by a purification part and then discharged as a purified gas. When the temperature of the purification part exceeds a predetermined temperature, a cooling medium is supplied from the cooling processing part to cool the purification part.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING TWO CONTAMINANTS IN A GAS STREAM
20170348629 · 2017-12-07 ·

A method for controlling two contaminants in a gas stream, comprising a system with two adsorption vessels, and analyzers for determining the concentration of the two contaminants is provided. The method includes purifying a gas stream with a first vessel placed in an adsorption mode and placing a second vessel in a standby mode. Then opening a second purge valve on the second vessel if the concentration of either contaminant is equal to or greater than predetermined threshold levels, thereby allowing a first portion of the purified gas exiting the first vessel to flow through the second vessel and exiting through the second purge valve. Then closing the second purge valve after a predetermined period of time when the concentration of both contaminants are less than or equal to a predetermined threshold level. Then switching the vessels and repeating the process.

Method and device for preparation of compressed air in motor vehicles
09833736 · 2017-12-05 · ·

In a method and a device for compressed air preparation in motor vehicles, ambient air is drawn in and compressed by a compressor (2), dried in a downstream air dryer (4, 4′) and delivered to compressed air consumers (storage tanks 14, 16). The air dryer (4, 4′) is regenerated with system air stored in a regeneration reservoir (30, 30′), passed via the air dryer (4, 4′) and vented via an associated vent valve (22). In predetermined operating states, a switch is made between a delivery phase and a regeneration phase via an electrically controlled governor (36, 36′). The delivery phase of the compressor takes place at least when compressed air consumption is high, and the regeneration phase takes place in the stationary mode at the idling speed of the drive motor, to keep the delivery phases short and to have sufficient time available for regeneration.

A rotary sorption bed system includes a rotating sorbent mass of a regenerable sorbent material, in which in a cycle of operation, a given volume of the sorbent mass sequentially passes through first, second, third, and fourth zones, before returning to the first zone. A process fluid stream is directed through the first zone, a regeneration fluid stream is directed through the third zone, and a recycled fluid stream recirculates in a closed loop independent of the process fluid stream and the regeneration fluid stream through the second and fourth zones. At least one parameter of the recycled fluid stream, including at least one of the dry bulb temperature and the dew point of the recycled fluid stream, is monitored and the recycled fluid stream is controlled based on the at least one parameter. The recycled fluid stream can be any one or more of purge, isolation, and purge/regeneration loops.
