DISTILLATE PRODUCTION FROM OXYGENATES IN MOVING BED REACTORS
20200398220 · 2020-12-24 ·

Systems and methods are provided for conversion of oxygenate feeds to distillate boiling range products using multiple moving bed reactor stages. The systems and methods allow for multiple stages to be used while avoiding the need for distillation or other boiling point based separation as the mixture of feed and effluent is passed between stages. Instead, a stripping gas is used to disengage the feed and effluent from the catalyst solids. In combination with an improved moving bed reactor design, this can allow substantially all of the feed and effluent from a first moving bed reactor stage to be passed into a second moving bed reactor stage, even when the feed and effluent include both vapor and liquid phase portions.

FEED DISTRIBUTION APPARATUS FOR MOVING BED REACTOR

A feed distribution apparatus and method of using such an apparatus are provided for introducing a three-phase flow into a moving bed reactor that is operated under co-current flow conditions. The feed distribution apparatus can allow for separate introduction of liquid and solids in a manner that allows for even distribution of liquid within the solids. The gas portion of the flow can be introduced in any of a variety of convenient manners for distributing gas into a liquid or solid flow.

Moisture swing carbon dioxide enrichment process

A process is disclosed for reversibly absorbing carbon dioxide to an alkali metal or earth alkaline absorbent. For absorption the absorbent is contacted with a first gas composition. For desorption the absorbent is contacted with a second gas composition. The moisture contents of the first and second gas compositions are controlled so that during the absorption step the absorbent is converted to a bicarbonate, and during the desorption step the absorbent is converted to a carbonate hydrate. Compared to prior art processes the process of the invention requires less energy input. The process of the invention is particularly suitable for producing a carbon dioxide enriched gas for accelerating plant growth in a greenhouse.

Method and Device Intended to Purify Sulphur Oxide Containing Exhaust Gas from Internal Combustion Engines by Means of a Multi-stage Adsorption Method

A method and a device intended to purify pollutants from an exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine operated with sulphur containing fuel, in particular of a ship internal combustion engine operated with heavy fuel oil, are provided. Exhaust gas flow is in contact with a solid adsorption agent of the adsorber in a first step and binding in particular acid pollutants, which comprise sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide. The exhaust gas flow is then guided by a second stage of the adsorber realising fine purification of the exhaust gas flow. The adsorption agent of the second stage is used in the first stage as an adsorption agent.

CO2 CAPTURE FROM DILUTE SOURCES

Systems and methods are provided for separation of CO.sub.2 from dilute source streams. The systems and methods for the separation can include use of contactors that correspond radial flow adsorbent modules that can allow for efficient contact of CO.sub.2-containing gas with adsorbent beds while also facilitating use of heat transfer fluids in the vicinity of the adsorbent beds to reduce or minimize temperature variations. In particular, the radial flow adsorbent beds can be alternated with regions of axial flow heat transfer conduits to provide thermal management. The radial flow structure for the adsorbent beds combined with axial flow conduits for heat transfer fluids can allow for sufficient temperature control to either a) reduce or minimize temperature variations within the adsorbent beds or b) facilitate performing the separation using temperature as a swing variable for controlling the working capacity of the adsorbent.

CARBON DIOXIDE ADSORBENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, AS WELL AS CARBON DIOXIDE SEPARATION SYSTEM

A method for manufacturing a carbon dioxide adsorbent includes: forming a kneaded product containing a hydrophilic fiber, a powdery porous material, and an aqueous hydrophilic binder dispersion into particles and drying the particles to generate porous material particles containing the hydrophilic fiber and the powdery porous material combined by the hydrophilic binder; and preparing an aqueous amine solution having an amine concentration of 5% or more and 70% or less and a temperature of 10 C. or higher and 100 C. or lower, impregnating the aqueous amine solution into the porous material particles, and aeration-drying the porous material particles impregnating the amine. The carbon dioxide adsorbent contains the porous material particles and the amine carried by the porous material particles, the porous material particles containing the hydrophilic fiber and the powdery porous material combined by the hydrophilic binder.

Zeolitic adsorbents with large external surface area, process for preparing them and uses thereof

The present invention relates to zeolitic adsorbents based on agglomerated crystals of FAU zeolite containing barium and/or potassium, with large external surface area, combining optimum properties in terms of selectivity and mechanical strength. These adsorbents find applications in the separation of cuts of C8-aromatic isomers and notably of xylenes, in the separation of isomers of substituted toluene such as nitrotoluene, diethyltoluene, toluenediamine, in the separation of cresols, and in the separation of polyhydric alcohols such as sugars.
