Process for the separation of methanol from gas mixtures

With the invention a washing apparatus and a process for the efficient separation and recovery of methanol from waste gases loaded with methanol is proposed, wherein the invention also can be used in an integrated flow chart for the production and processing of methanol. The methanol fractions separated from the waste gases are recovered within the already existing, distillative processing of the crude methanol to pure methanol, so that no separate apparatuses are required for the recovery of the methanol from the loaded scrubber waste waters. The valuable substance methanol is recovered and the impact on the environment is reduced. By particular aspects of the invention the total degree of methanol separation can be adapted according to the locally applicable emission limit values.

Vapor Splitter and Method for Adjusting Vapor Split Ratio

Disclosed is a vapor splitter including: a chimney tray dividing an internal space of a housing into an upper space and a lower space; a chimney provided on the chimney tray to enable the upper space and the lower space to communicate with each other; a cap covering the chimney with a gap therebetween such that a gas discharge hole is formed so that gas, coming out through the chimney, can be transferred to the upper space through the gas discharge hole; a liquid feeding unit for feeding liquid to the upper space; and a liquid discharging unit for discharging the liquid out of the upper space. The size of the gas discharge hole is adjusted by controlling the height of the liquid collected on the chimney. Further disclosed is a method of adjusting a vapor split ratio using the vapor splitter.

System for transferring mass with the capturing of solids via the induction of an electromagnetic field

The invention relates to a system for transferring mass with the capturing of solids via the induction of an electromagnetic field, comprising a plurality of cells formed in a plurality of discs forming an assembly of means for generating a membrane and electromagnetic field. The liquid membranes formed in this assembly collapse upon contact with a gaseous current. The collapsed liquid material covers the suspended particles and removes same via decanting, and the cells of the membrane also increase the speed of the gaseous current and cause same to impinge on the surface of the liquid, thereby improving the transferral of the vapour to the gas. The system also has means for generating an electromagnetic field that are electrically energised in order to provide an electromagnetic field to the assembly, such that the solids circulating after the rupture of the liquid membrane are attracted to each disc depending on the ionic behaviour thereof. The system also has means for capturing solids that are radially adjusted in the space between discs, and means for removing solids that are adjusted to the capturing means for removing or carrying the captured solids.
