Filter cassette article, and filter comprising same
A filtration cassette including a multilaminate array of sheets including filter sheets alternating with permeate sheet members and retentate sheet members, and a cross-flow filter device comprising a multiplicity of stacked filtration cassettes of such type. The improvements associated with the filtration cassettes described herein include, but are not limited to, at least one of: reinforced inlet(s) providing for longevity and improved cleanability of the cassettes; spacer permeate screens to limit throughput restriction; stainless steel or otherwise stiffened permeate sheets to prevent movement and increase flux; and stainless steel permeate sheets that can be used with ultrasonic transmission to minimize fouling of the filter sheets and extend cleaning cycles. Advantageously, the filtration cassettes are more resistant to higher temperatures than the filtration cassettes of the prior art.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING STACK PLATE OF HUMIDIFIER AND STACK PLATE
A method of manufacturing a stack plate of a humidifier, comprises providing a semipermeable membrane that is airtight but permeable to moisture, depositing a plastic layer forming a plastic frame to a first side of the semipermeable membrane so that the semipermeable membrane is arranged over a fluid passage of the plastic frame, and depositing a gasket layer forming a gasket to a second side of the semipermeable membrane, the gasket being for sealing the stack plate against another stack plate, and the second side opposing the first side at least in some areas where the semipermeable membrane is supported by the plastic frame on the first side.
Filtration units and assembly, and methods of making and using same
A self-contained filtration assembly with a self-contained filtration cassette therein. The cassette may be formed from one or more layers membranes and spacers (spacers, screens, or combinations thereof) all having the same general shape. The cassette may have a feed inlet path and a retentate outlet path extending through the layers of the cassette within the perimeter of the cassette, and a permeate outlet path between the cassette exterior and the interior of the cassette housing. The housing may have a generally circular or elliptical cross-section. A clamping assembly may hold together the components of the housing, and may be elongated in a direction along the flow path of the feedstream through the cassette. Various port-defining zones defined in the layers of the cassette may be sealed in a manner facilitating assembly of the cassette as well as isolation of the flow paths therein.

Vibrating Filtration Device
A device includes a module including: a volume chamber including an inlet and a retentate outlet; a drainage chamber connected to the volume chamber and including an outlet; a membrane separating the volume chamber from the drainage chamber allowing permeate to pass while retaining retentate; a wall that is impermeable to the liquid to be filtered on one side, and in contact with the environment on the other side, thereby separating the liquid from the environment; where the volume chamber and the membrane are configured to allow the liquid in the volume chamber to transit the membrane when vibrated; where the volume chamber and the wall are configured to extend or contract the wall determined by the pressure of the liquid on wall applied when the module is vibrated; and where the device further includes a motor having a receptacle for the module and being configured for vibrating the module.
