The invention relates to a method for creating a porous film through aqueous phase separation, the method comprising: i) providing an aqueous solution comprising a responsive copolymer, and optionally a charged polymer, wherein at least one of the monomers in the responsive copolymer is a responsive monomer; ii) forming the aqueous solution into a thin layer and contacting the thin layer of aqueous solution with an aqueous coagulation solution in which the responsive copolymer is not soluble, or contacting the thin layer of aqueous solution with an aqueous coagulation solution in which a complex comprising the responsive copolymer and the charged polymer is not soluble; and iii) allowing solvent exchange between the aqueous solution and the aqueous coagulation solution to produce a porous film. The invention further relates to porous films or membranes thus obtained.

Isoporous self-assembled block copolymer films containing high molecular weight hydrophilic additives and methods of making the same

The invention provides systems and methods for substantially improving the compaction resistance of isoporous block copolymer (BCP) film by adding a high molecular weight hydrophilic additive in the casting dope formulation. Systems and methods disclosed also disclose several other multifunctional enhancements to film properties including: low fouling propensity, improved permeability, improved permeability retention upon drying, and ability to tune the substructure and pore size of these novel BCP films. These porous BCP films are useful in filtration and separations applications and are amenable to standard manufacturing practices.

Composite reverse osmosis membrane and preparation method thereof

The present application discloses a composite reverse osmosis membrane and a preparation method thereof. The method includes: uniformly mixing fluorine-containing polyaryletherketone of a certain concentration and silane-modified polyaryletherketone as a casting solution; coating a non-woven fabric, i.e., a substrate, with the casting solution to form a support layer; then coating the surface of the support layer with a solution A and a solution B sequentially for reaction to form a polyamide desalination layer; and coating the polyamide desalination layer with a modified polyvinyl alcohol anti-pollution layer. By means of the method, the composite reverse osmosis membrane is prepared. Compared with the prior art, the present application can prepare a composite reverse osmosis membrane with high temperature resistance and high strength by using the composite modified polyaryletherketone as the support layer, and moreover, uses polyvinyl alcohol as a component of the anti-pollution layer, and has good anti-pollution properties.

Polyurethane/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membrane for extracting organic sulfide from naphtha and preparation method therefor

The present invention relates to the field of composite membrane and discloses a polyurethane/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membrane for extracting organic sulfide from naphtha. The polyurethane/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membrane includes an active layer and a support layer where the active layer is a polyurethane casting membrane and the support layer is a polyvinylidene fluoride membrane. The polyurethane/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membrane is prepared by coating the active layer onto the support layer. At the same time, a preparation method for the polyurethane/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membrane is disclosed. The present invention has the following beneficial effects: the polyurethane/polyvinylidene fluoride composite membrane prepared in the present invention may be used to extract organic sulfide in naphtha with high separation efficiency. Further, the composite membrane almost does not change the octane number and the like of the raw material oil, thereby improving the extraction rate of the organic sulfide.
