Method of fabricating nanoporous organic-inorganic hybrid film and nanoporous organic-inorganic hybrid film manufactured by the method and nanoporous membrane employing the nanoporous organic-inorganic hybrid film

Disclosed herein is a method of preparing a nanoporous organic-inorganic hybrid film. The method includes preparing an organic sol including a compound having amino groups, a compound having isocyanate groups, and a solvent; adding an inorganic oxide precursor to the organic sol to form a mixed solution; and subjecting the mixed solution to heat treatment to form an organic molecule network structure in which the organic sol is gelled, and an inorganic molecule network structure located along a surface of the organic molecule network structure.

Gas separation membrane with ladder-structured polysilsesquioxane and method for fabricating the same

The present disclosure provides a gas separation membrane using a ladder-structured polysilsesquioxane in which organic functional groups are attached to a long siloxane chain and a method for fabricating the same. In accordance with the present disclosure, a free-standing ladder-structured polysilsesquioxane-based membrane with various functional groups can be fabricated for gas separations. The performance of the gas separation membrane can be controlled through a variety of combinations of the organic functional groups linked to the siloxane chain. In addition, by controlling the molecular structure of the gas separation membrane through mixing of the ladder-structured polysilsesquioxane with an amine compound or conventional glassy or rubbery polymers or through thermal/UV-curing, the permeability and selectivity of the gas separation membrane can be controlled selectively.

Superpolar chromatographic stationary phases and extraction sorbents and their methods of synthesis

A superpolar sorbent network is a sol-gel network of at least one metal oxide precursor condensed and at least one polyhydroxy molecule. The metal oxide precursor is a silicate precursor, aluminate precursor, titanate precursor, zirconate precursor, germinate precursor, or any combinations thereof, and the polyhydroxy molecule has a multiplicity of hydroxyl groups. The polyhydroxy molecule can be an organic molecule derived from nature. The superpolar sorbent network can be used as a particulate or bulk sorbent for sampling or removal of analytes or contaminants from an environment or can be coated on a tube or particulate substrate for use as a chromatographic stationary phase.

Filtration membrane

A filtration membrane including a first layer having a triamine-functionalized copper oxide polysilicate mesoporous material, a second layer including a polysulfone, and a third layer including a polyester terephthalate. The triamine-functionalized copper oxide polysilicate mesoporous material includes a copper oxide polysilicate backbone and a silicon atom of a silicon-containing triamine bonded to a silicate group in the copper oxide polysilicate backbone. The copper oxide polysilicate backbone is datively bonded to one or more tetramines, and the silicon-containing triamine and one or more tetramines are covalently cross-linked with terephthaloyl chloride to form a polyamide.
