A spin-on fluid filter with improved attachment and sealing with the filter head. The filter has a gasket positioned at the end of threads used to connect the filter to a filter head. The described design protects the gasket from excessive engine heat, cat or tear damage during installation, and the roll out effect of installation torque. In addition, the described attachment provides gasket protection and uniform compression of the gasket. The gasket can be any type that provides a seal which keeps external threads on the filter and the filter head dry.

A filter device has a filter housing and a filter element arranged in the filter housing. The filter element at least partially encloses an inwardly positioned flow chamber. A purified medium can be discharged from the filter device through a flow socket provided with a wall that has an opening. A fastening flange is arranged at the wall of the flow socket adjacent to the opening, wherein a purging gas pipe of a purging device can be detachably fastened by the fastening flange to the flow socket. The opening in the wall of the flow socket receives the purging gas pipe.

A filter assembly of a fluid filtration system includes a filter housing and a filter element. The filter housing includes an engagement member. The filter element includes a media pack and a sealing member. The media pack includes filter media that is configured to filter a fluid passing therethrough. The sealing member is coupled to the media pack and is engageable with the engagement member. The sealing member is formed in a Reuleaux shape.

A filtration system comprises a housing and a shell housing removably coupled to the housing. A valve comprise a valve housing and a plunger. The plunger comprises a seal member structured to seal an opening in the valve housing. The plunger is axially movable between a closed position, in which the seal member seals the opening, and an open position, in which the seal member does not seal the opening, thereby permitting fluid to flow through the valve housing. A filter element comprises filter media and an endcap. The endcap comprises an alignment tab configured to rotationally secure the filter element with respect to the shell housing when the shell housing is received in the housing. The endcap comprise a valve interaction projection structured to transfer rotation of the filter element and the shell housing to the plunger during installation of the filter element.

The embodiments described herein include an apparatus for adapting an existing water fountain having a water supply line and an existing bubbler assembly for dispensing water to a filtered water fountain. The system includes an adapter base in fluid communication with the water supply line, a housing assembly secured to the adapter base, and a bubbler head assembly secured to the housing assembly for dispensing water. A filter cartridge assembly is disposed within the housing assembly and is in fluid communication with the adapter base and the bubbler head assembly.

A filter assembly includes a manifold having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, a filter housing having a filter medium provided therein, the filter medium defining an inner filter chamber and defining an outer filter chamber between the filter medium and the filter housing, the filter housing being removably attached to the manifold. The filter assembly includes a valve assembly mounted inside the manifold, and a by-pass channel defined inside the manifold between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The valve assembly includes a valve body, a by-pass valve system, and a shut off valve system. The by-pass valve system includes a by-pass valve piston having a piston body, and a by-pass valve spring arranged to move the by-pass valve piston. The shut off valve system includes a shut off valve piston, and a shut off valve spring arranged to move the shut off valve piston.

A fluid treatment device has an exchangeable treatment unit and a connection head. A bayonet-type connection device connects connection head and treatment unit to each other by a plug-in/rotation movement about a connection axis of the treatment device and is provided with a housing connection part and a head connection part that operatively engage each other to form a connection of the bayonet-type connection device. Housing connection part and head connection part each have a mutually complementary functional element extending circumferentially about the connection axis and operatively connectable to each other. Various embodiments relate to a filtration system. The filtration system includes a housing having a drain. A filter element is positioned within the housing. The filter element comprises a first endplate and a second endplate. Filter media is positioned between the first endplate and second endplate. A dual lip seal member is coupled to the second endplate. The dual lip seal member includes a first protrusion that extends radially outward around an outer surface of the dual lip seal member. A second protrusion extends radially outward around the outer surface of the dual lip seal member. The dual lip seal member is configured to prevent fluid to be filtered from exiting the housing through the drain when the filter element is in an installed position. The dual lip seal member permits residual fluid to exit the housing through the drain when the filter element is displaced from the installed position.

A method of assembling a canister filter system includes inserting a first filter component into a second filter component, and continuing the insertion until a first tab of either the first filter component or the second filter component contacts the other of the first filter component and the second filter component.
