POROUS COMPOSITE
In a porous composite, a base material has a honeycomb structure whose inside is partitioned into a plurality of cells. In the plurality of cells, a plurality of first cells whose one ends in the longitudinal direction are sealed, and a plurality of second cells whose other ends in the longitudinal direction are sealed are arranged alternately. A collection layer covers inner surfaces of the plurality of first cells. An overall Sa that is an arithmetical mean height Sa indicating a surface roughness of a surface of the collection layer in the plurality of first cells is greater than or equal to 0.1 μm and less than or equal to 12 μm. An overall mean thickness that is a mean thickness of the collection layer in the plurality of first cells is greater than or equal to 10 μm and less than or equal to 40 μm.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR INFECTIOUS VIRUS MITIGATION
The present invention offers infectious virus mitigation apparatus that utilize one or more 3-dimensional porous metal substrate that impart virus mitigation effect. Fluid that contains or may contain infectious virus traverses through said substrate to achieve virus mitigation effect. Additional virus mitigation effect can be achieved by subjecting said virus mitigation apparatus to suitable wavelength(s) of light that enhance total virus mitigation effect and/or utilizing contoured cover glazing to induce fluid dynamics that can enhance total virus mitigation effect per pass of said fluid through said apparatus. The utility includes a wide variety of practical uses such as filtration of air, water, blood, and other fluids that contain or may contain infectious virus such as coronavirus.
REMOVAL OF WATER CONTAMINANTS USING ENHANCED CERAMIC FILTRATION MATERIALS
A filter material composing a ceramic clay having an interconnected network of pores formed from cellulose fiber combustion is useful for removing chemical and biological contaminants from a water supply. Coating the ceramic clay with lanthanum enhances the removal of anionic species of As(V), As(III), Cr(VI), microbes and virus.
LIGHT GUIDE PLATE HAVING AIR PERMEABILITY AND AIR PURIFYING FILTER INCLUDING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to an air-permeable light guide plate and an air purifying filter including the same, wherein the air-permeable light guide plate according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a light source located on at least one side surface, and a flat type plate through which light generated from the light source passes, wherein light is emitted in a direction perpendicular to a flat plate of the flat type plate, and the flat type plate has a plurality of openings.
FILTER MEDIA COMPRISING ADSORPTIVE PARTICLES
Filter media comprising adsorptive particles are generally described. In some embodiments, the adsorptive particles are present in a relatively large amount, in a layer discrete from one or more other layers and/or fiber webs also present in the filter media, and/or in a layer that comprises a relatively low amount of fibers. In some embodiments, the filter media further comprises a non-woven fiber web comprising fibers with relatively small diameters.
Air Filtering Cover Engageable with Infant Carrier
An air filtering cover is configured to engage over an infant carrier to filter air communicated into an interior cavity thereof. A cover body has a top wall having a pocket with two sidewalls and a filter element and form a flowpath for air communicating through the body and filter to remove dirt, dust, and pathogens from air reaching the occupant of the interior cavity. The filter may be replaceable within a pocket formed in the cover body. A gauge strip may be positioned on the filter which changes in appearance when the filter needs replacement.
Honeycomb structure and exhaust gas purifying device
A pillar shaped honeycomb structure includes: a porous partition wall that defines a plurality of cells, the cells forming flow paths for a fluid, the cells extending from an inflow end face to an outflow end face; and an outer peripheral wall located at the outermost circumference. The cells include: a plurality of cells A wherein a side of the inflow end face is opened and the outflow end face has a plugged portion; and a plurality of cells B wherein a side of the outflow end face is opened and the inflow end face has a plugged portion, the cells B being arranged alternately with the cells A. One or both of the plugged portion of the cells A and the plugged portions of the cells B contain a magnetic substance and glass.
CERAMIC HONEYCOMB FILTER
A ceramic honeycomb filter has (a) cross section areas of intake flow paths being larger than those of discharge flow paths; (b) the intake and discharge flow paths having octagonal cross section shapes with four-fold rotation symmetry each obtained by cutting off four corners from a square; (c) the intake and discharge flow paths being alternately arranged in a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, such that their opposing sides are parallel; (d) the opening ratio of the intake flow paths being 45-60%; (e) the number of the flow paths per cm.sup.2 being 30-60; (f) the thickness t1 of a cell wall between an intake flow path and a discharge flow path adjacent to that intake flow path being 0.150-0.260 mm; and (g) the thickness t2 of a cell wall between adjacent intake flow paths meeting 1.175<t2/t1<1.6.
COMPOSITE VIRUCIDAL FILTER MEDIA
A composite virucidal filter media is described. The filter media comprises a fibrous substrate comprising a plurality of intermingled fibers, a low cost, nontoxic, hydrophilic polymer without acidic functional groups deposited on a surface of the fibers without the formation of a continuous coating layer on the substrate, and a virucidal metal, a virucidal metal-containing compound, or combinations thereof deposited on the surface of the fibers comprising the hydrophilic polymer without acidic functional groups. The hydrophilic polymer without acidic functional groups can be charged or non-charged. Methods of making virucidal fibrous filter media are also described.
Air and water barrier article including inelastic porous layer
The air and water barrier article includes a polymer-coated inelastic porous layer including a water-vapor permeable polymeric coating disposed on at least one major surface of the inelastic porous layer and an adhesive disposed on a major surface of the polymer-coated inelastic porous layer. The inelastic porous layer can include at least one of surface-modified fibers or natural cellulose fibers. The polymer-coated inelastic porous layer can at least one of a water strike through time of not more than 180 seconds or an absorbance capacity of at least one-half gram per 116 square centimeters.
