MULTI-LAYER, OIL-RESISTANT, ELECTRO-MECHANICAL SYNTHETIC HEPA MEDIA
20230072618 · 2023-03-09 ·

A composite media alternative to high pressure drop glass microfiber HEPA media for use in applications where HEPA efficiency with an oily aerosol challenge with low resistance are required. The composite media contains two light filtration layers, one or both of which is charged, and the efficiency of the material can be greatly increased over a single layer containing the same weight of material. The composite media contains a backer layer to provide mechanical support to the filtration layers.

Filtering fabric and process for forming same

Embodiments disclosed herein include a stitched filtering fabric including a barrier layer configured to inhibit air flow through the filtering fabric, a yarn stitched through and forming a plurality of stitch holes in the barrier layer, and a first yarn layer comprising interlocking loops of the yarn. The barrier layer is configured to direct air flow through the yarn within the stitched holes.

FILTER ASSEMBLY, PREFILTER ASSEMBLY, AND RESPIRATOR INCLUDING THE SAME

A filter assembly comprises an air filter medium and a prefilter medium. The prefilter medium comprises a second nonwoven fibrous web comprising poly(4-methylpentene) and an electrostatic charging additive and has a second electret charge. The filter assembly is configured such that air passing through the prefilter is directed through the air filter medium. A respirator includes the filter assembly. A prefilter assembly comprises a third nonwoven fibrous web retained by a prefilter frame. The third nonwoven fibrous web comprises: core-sheath fiber comprising a fiber core having a poly(4-methylpentene) sheath layer disposed thereon; and an electrostatic charging additive, wherein the electrostatic charging additive is contained in at least one of the fiber core or the sheath layer. The third nonwoven fibrous web has a third electret charge.

FILTER MODULE FOR THE SEPARATION OF OVERSPRAY

A filter module, including a plurality of filter elements for separating overspray from an air flow, the filter module including a reusable and cleanable frame configured as a support structure for components for collecting overspray, and a plurality of components inserted into the frame for collecting overspray, wherein the components for collecting overspray are at least filter elements and linings in the frame, which are configured as disposable, single-use products the filter elements form at least a first filter stage, and all the surfaces of the frame which are exposed to the air flow upstream of the first filter stage are provided with the linings such that the surfaces of the frame are protected against overspray.

DEPTH FILTERS AND RELATED METHODS
20230120229 · 2023-04-20 ·

Described are multi-layer filters of a type commonly known as “depth filters” and related devices and methods, with the filters containing a layer that includes polyaramid fiber, synthetic filter aid, and polymeric binder.

HIGH EFFICIENCY SYNTHETIC FILTER MEDIA

The present invention is generally related to a high capacity, high efficiency nonwoven filtration media comprising a gradient pore structure. In particular, the filtration media can comprise thermoplastic synthetic microfibers, fibrillated fibers, staple fibers, and a binder. Furthermore, the filtration media may be produced without the use of glass fibers or microglass fibers. Consequently, the filtration media of the present invention does not cause the same issues as conventional filtration media that comprises glass fibers and/or microglass fibers. Moreover, the filtration media can be used to treat fuel, lubrication fluids, hydraulic fluids, and various other industrial gases.
