TRANSPARENT COMPOSITE NANO-FIBRE BASED MULTI-LAYER TEXTILE
A composite multi-layer textile, comprising at least one nanofibre layer with nanofibres with diameters below 100 nm and one support layer with microfibres with diameters below three microns, wherein the layers were produced by electrospinning. The multi-layer textile shows a general transmittance at #=550 nm greater than 60%, which shows improved properties concerning transparency, breathability and robustness. This is achieved in that the at least one nanofibre layer and the support layer are fused, forming solid domains in the multi-layer textile, at closed areas of a pattern used in the production process, wherein the solid domains are separated from each other or connected, showing defined shapes, with regular or irregular spatial distribution, while the fibre morphology of nanofibres of the nanofibre layer and microfibres of support layer is preserved on top of the open areas beside the solid domains, attaining a general transmittance greater than that given by the sum of the individual layers.
Air filtration material, device for decontaminating air by filtration and manufacturing method.
The invention relates to a filtering material permeable to air and impermeable to oral, nasal and/or ocular human liquid aqueous excretions, comprising at least one bundle, referred to as a hydrophobic bundle, of at least two hydrophobic sheets which are superimposed and each formed by porous paper, having a gsm substance less than 30 g/m.sup.2, each hydrophobic sheet being formed by cellulose fibres, referred to as cross-linked cellulose fibres, which are connected to each other by hydrogen bonds and by covalent bonds which are formed with at least one group of cross-linking atoms, characterised in that at least some of the hydroxyls of the cross-linked cellulose fibres which are not engaged in hydrogen bonds and which are accessible to the gases form a covalent bond with an acyl group with a hydrophobic chain.
INFECTION CONTROL FILTER LABEL
An infection control filter label includes a frame and a filter membrane that covers a window through the frame. The frame may be removably secured to a cover for an item, such as a cushion (e.g., a pillow, a positioner, a mattress topper, a mattress, a seat cushion, etc.), bedding (e.g., a duvet, etc.), or the like to provide a sealed cover for the item. The sealed cover may be impermeable, with the infection control filter label limiting the passage of dust and microorganisms (e.g., fungi, bacteria, mold spores, etc.) from passing therethrough. Thus, the sealed cover may protect its contents from external factors (e.g., sick individuals, etc.) while protecting the environment outside the sealed cover from the contents of the sealed cover. Information about the item may be provided on the frame; for example, by printing, writing, or the like.
ARTICLE FOR INFECTION PREVENTION FOR FOMITE MATERIALS
An embodiment is an article configured to inhibit or prevent pathogen growth. The article includes an inner layer configured to face a wearer's skin when the face covering article is applied to the face of the wearer; a middle layer adjacent to the inner layer; and an outer protection layer adjacent to the middle layer and opposite the inner layer and comprising a substrate and metal particles in the substrate, wherein the metal particles are configured to inhibit or prevent pathogen growth.
MULTILAYERED TEXTILE AS/FOR DURABLE AND WASHABLE HIGH-PERFORMANCE FILTRATION MEDIA AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING THEREOF
A list of highly suitable textiles and a method to combine them into a durable reusable filtration medium with high particles filtration efficiency (PFE) and breathability that lasts over 50-75 laundering cycles. Filtration medium achieves PFE only through mechanical means, without fragile and harmful physicochemical pre-treatments. Different textiles are assembled considering their individual breathability and their complementary in terms of PFE on different particles' sizes to achieve good breathability and high PFE on a large range (20 nm-4 μm) after many laundering cycles, or several layers of the same textile are paired, while varying the fibers' orientation and dimensions in each layer to increase efficiency. This assembling method highly improves PFE, service life and performances' stability of the filtration medium by addressing structural weaknesses linked to anisotropy in each layer, and by protecting their fine fibers from mechanical wear and clogging through a face-to-face closed filtration cell-type pairing.
POLYMERIC FABRIC
The invention relates to a polymeric fabric comprising an outer functional layer having hydrophobic and oleophobic characteristics made of a first compound, and a second functional layer having hydrophobic characteristics made of a second compound, wherein the first and the second compound differ from each other. Further the outer functional layer at least partly coats the second layer. Additionally, the invention relates to a method of producing a polymeric fabric and an apparatus for producing a polymeric fabric.
GLASS FIBER FREE FILTER MEDIUM WITH A DENSIFIED LAYER MADE OF SYNTHETIC FIBERS
A multi-layered filter medium with a densified layer made of synthetic fibers is useful for filtering liquids. A method for its production involves providing multiple layers, densifying a layer, and joining the multiple layers.
ANTI-MICROBIAL FILTER
The present invention relates to open-celled phenolic foam filters. In particular, the present invention relates to open-celled phenolic foam air filters for killing microbes present in air, and the use of said filters in antimicrobial air sanitation systems.
Coated substrates and articles with anti-viral properties, and fabrication processes
Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to coated substrates having, e.g., anti-viral properties, to articles including the coated substrates, and to processes for making such coated substrates and articles. In an embodiment, a mask for preventing infection by a virus is provided. The mask includes a coated substrate having a breathing resistance (95 L/min, EN 149:2001) of about 6 mbar or less and a water droplet absorption time of less than about 5 seconds. The coated substrate includes a non-woven fabric having a weight of about 120 g/m.sup.2 or less according to ASTM D3776, and mineral oxide particles, iron oxide particles, or both, coupled to at least a portion of the non-woven fabric.
FILTER MEDIUM FOR AIR FILTER, FILTER PACK, AIR FILTER UNIT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING FILTER MEDIUM FOR AIR FILTER
A filter medium includes first and second porous films mainly containing fluororesin, and a pre-collection member upstream of the first film. The second film is downstream of the first film. The pre-collection member has a pressure drop when air is passed through at a flow rate of 5.3 cm/s of between 15 Pa and 55 Pa, a collection efficiency of NaCl particles having a particle diameter of 0.3 μm when air containing the particles is passed hrough at a flow rate of 5.3 cm/s of between 25% and 80%, a thickness of 0.4 mm or less, and a PF value between 7 and 15. The PF value={−log((100−collection efficiency (%))/100)}/(pressure drop (Pa)/1000). A ratio of the PF value of the pre-collection member to the PF value when the first and second films are overlapped, is between 0.20 and 0.45. The filter medium can be used in a filter pack or filter unit, and may be produced by integrating the first and second films and the pre-collection member using heat lamination.
