Macroporous desiccant based honeycomb matrix containing the macroporous desiccant synthesized “in-situ”, the desiccant having a differential water adsorption. Process for the “in-situ” preparation of the macroporous desiccant based honeycomb matrix including the steps of soaking honeycomb substrate impregnated with water glass, in aqueous metal salt(s) solution or acid solution, or combination thereof, until such time that the hydrogel honeycomb matrix is obtained and thermally activating the hydrogel honeycomb matrix to produce macroporous desiccant based honeycomb matrix.
Sulfur-doped carbonaceous porous materials
The present invention relates to novel sulfur-doped carbonaceous porous materials. The present invention also relates to processes for the preparation of these materials and to the use of these materials in applications such as gas adsorption, mercury and gold capture, gas storage and as catalysts or catalyst supports.
HYBRID METHOD FOR CARBON CAPTURE
A method of removing carbon dioxide from a gas can include providing a gaseous feed stream including a carbon dioxide gas and adsorbing the carbon dioxide gas with a porous carbon sorbent. The method can further include de-adsorbing the carbon dioxide and combining the carbon dioxide with a substantially pure hydrogen gas to produce at least one of methane and methanol. The adsorbing and de-adsorbing of the carbon dioxide gas can be conducted by an electric swing adsorption.
Materials for the direct capture of carbon dioxide from atmospheric air
The invention relates to a method to produce a particulate activated carbon material for capturing CO.sub.2 from air, wherein the particulate activated carbon is impregnated with alkali carbonate salt such as K.sub.2CO.sub.3; and wherein the impregnated particulate activated carbon either has, determined using nitrogen adsorption methods, a pore volume of at least 0.10 cm.sup.3/g for pore sizes of at least 5 nm and a pore volume of at most 0.30 cm.sup.3/g for pore sizes of less than 2 nm or is based on a mixture of different alkali carbonate salts, or has a particular pore surface for pore sizes in the range of 2 nm-50 nm.
ADSORBENT SYSTEM
An adsorbent system including an enclosure having a cavity defining a humidity-controlled environment and a body having or defining a channel therein. The body is coupled to the enclosure such that a first end of the channel is in selective fluid communication with an ambient environment and a second end of the channel is in fluid communication with the humidity-controlled environment. The system further includes an adsorbent material in the channel, wherein the channel and adsorbent material are configured such that inlet fluid flowing from the first end to the second end through the channel is flowable over at least a portion of the adsorbent material, and such that outlet fluid flowing from the second end to the first end is directly flowable over a majority of the portion of the adsorbent material that is flowable over by the inlet fluid, The system further includes a valve system positioned at or adjacent to or in fluid communication with the first end of the channel. The valve system includes an inlet valve portion that is biased to a closed position to generally block a flow of inlet fluid therethrough and that is movable to an open position when a pressure in the channel is sufficiently low relative to a pressure in the ambient environment. The valve system further includes an outlet valve portion that is biased to a closed position to generally block a flow of outlet fluid therethrough and that is movable to an open position when the pressure in the channel is sufficiently high relative to the pressure in the ambient environment.
MULTI-LAYER FILTRATION SYSTEM AND FILTER UNIT COMPRISING SAME
Proposed is a multi-layer filtration system including a metal catalyst filter unit, a carbon filter unit, and an inorganic compound filter unit. The metal catalyst filter unit includes at least one among metals including Ni, Co, Fe, Cu, Cr, Mg, Zn, Ba, Au, Ag, Pd, Pt, Ru, Mn, and Ti, oxides thereof, and mixtures thereof. The carbon filter unit includes at least one of activated carbon or activated carbon fiber. The inorganic compound filter unit includes an inorganic compound capable of adsorbing toxic gas. The multi-layer filtration system has good removal effect for toxic gas. A filter module including the multi-layer filtration system and a gas mask including the multi-layer filtration system are also proposed.
Device and method for low energy atmospheric water generation
According to the present invention there is provided a device and method for atmospheric water harvesting operative in an alternating sequence of an absorption phase and a desorption phase. The device comprises an air permeable adsorbent substrate being subject to an atmospheric airflow during the absorption phase and being subject to a circulated airflow during the desorption phase. The device further comprises a liquid heated heat radiation element embedded in the adsorbent substrate and a heated liquid heating media being circulated in the heat radiation element during the desorption phase. The device may further comprise air shutters, where the direction of the atmospheric airflow being substantially transversal to the direction of the circulated airflow. The air shutters are capable of blocking an entrance and an exit of the atmospheric airflow during the desorption phase.

The present invention generally relates to a pressure swing adsorption process for separating an adsorbate impurity from a feed stream comprising product gas, said process comprising feeding the feed stream to an adsorbent bed at a pressure of from about 60 psig to 2000 psig, wherein said adsorbent bed comprises adsorbent having: An isosteric heat of adsorption of from about 5 kJ/mol to about 30 kJ/mol, as determined by the LRC method, for the adsorbate, and an equivalent 65 kJ/mol or less isosteric heat of adsorption for the product,
wherein the adsorbent has a rate of adsorption for the adsorbate impurity that is at least 10 times greater than the rate of adsorption for the product gas as determined by the TGA method and recovering said product gas with a reduced a level of said adsorbate impurity. The invention also related to an adsorbent useful in PSA separations, particularly separating N.sub.2 from methane, CO.sub.2 from methane O.sub.2 from N.sub.2 and the like.
Device for promoting wound healing by high polymer low temperature ionized gas
A device has a power source having a high voltage terminal and a low voltage terminal, an oil-free gas compressor, a first molecular sieve, multiple ionized gas generators, an outer metal pipe, an inner metal pipe, a dielectric insulating ceramic sheet, and a gas outlet pipe. The first molecular sieve is connected between the oil-free gas compressor and the ionized gas generators, and is capable of filtering out molecules in the gas except for oxygen. The outer metal pipe and the inner metal pipe are electrically connected to the low voltage terminal and the high voltage terminal respectively. The dielectric insulating ceramic sheet is mounted between the outer metal pipe and the inner metal pipe, and forms an ionizing space, which communicates with the ionizing space, with the outer metal pipe.
