Palladium diesel oxidation catalyst
An oxidation catalyst composite for abatement of exhaust gas emissions from a lean burn engine is provided, the catalyst composite including a carrier substrate having a length, an inlet end and an outlet end, and an oxidation catalyst material coated on the carrier substrate. The oxidation catalyst material can include a first layer and a second layer. The first layer can include a first oxygen storage component that includes ceria and is impregnated with a palladium (Pd) component and a second component including one or more of magnesium (Mg), rhodium (Rh), and platinum (Pt). The second layer can include a refractory metal oxide component impregnated with platinum (Pt) and palladium (Pd), wherein the ratio of Pt to Pd is in the range of about 0:10 to about 10:0.

Ammonia slip catalyst having platinum impregnated on high porosity substrates
Catalytic articles having a high porosity substrate containing platinum, palladium or a mixture thereof, in walls of the high porosity substrate and an SCR catalyst coating on a wall of the high porosity substrate are disclosed. The platinum, palladium or mixture thereof can be present in the wall of the high porosity support as a metal, or as a supported platinum, palladium or a mixture thereof. The catalytic articles are useful for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx in exhaust gases and in reducing the amount of ammonia slip. Methods for producing such articles are described. Methods of using the catalytic articles in an SCR process, where the amount of ammonia slip is reduced, are also described.

[Solution] Provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst comprising a substrate and a catalyst layer provided on the substrate, said catalyst having a first section located upstream along a flow direction of the exhaust gas and a second section located downstream from the first section; the catalyst layer in the first section comprises a first catalyst layer comprising palladium and a second catalyst layer comprising rhodium and covering the first catalyst layer, wherein a pore volume proportion is 12% or more and less than 18% wherein the pore volume proportion is a proportion of a total volume of the pores, which have a pore diameter of 0.06 μm to 30.0 μm as measured by mercury press-in method and existing in the substrate and the catalyst layer in the first section to a volume of a entire first section; and a wash coat amount is 100 g/L to 190 g/L, wherein a wash coat amount is a mass per unit volume of the catalyst layer in the first section to the volume of the substrate existing in the first section.

RUTHENIUM PROMOTER CATALYST COMPOSITIONS
The present disclosure relates to ruthenium promoter catalyst compositions. The ruthenium promoter catalyst compositions comprise ruthenium metal species, an oxide support material, and a promoter species independently selected from the group consisting of La, Rb, Y, Yb, K, Cs, and Ba, or hydroxides, nitrates or oxides thereof. LAYERED CATALYTIC ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE CATALYTIC ARTICLE
The presently claimed invention provides a layered catalytic article and an exhaust system. The catalytic article comprises a first layer comprising platinum, a first platinum group metal component other than platinum, a ceria-alumina composite, and an oxygen storage component; wherein platinum is supported on the ceria-alumina component; the platinum group metal component is selected from palladium, rhodium or a combination thereof and the platinum group metal component is supported on the oxygen storage component; a second layer comprising a second platinum group metal component; and a refractory alumina component, an oxygen storage component or a combination thereof; wherein the second platinum group component is selected from platinum, palladium, rhodium or a combination thereof; and a substrate, wherein the amount of platinum is 10 to 80 wt. %, based on the total weight of platinum, palladium and rhodium. The presently claimed invention also provides a process for the preparation of a layered catalytic article and use of the catalytic article and the exhaust system for purifying a gaseous exhaust stream comprising hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides.

An after treatment method is disclosed. The after treatment method may include: operating an engine at a lean air/fuel ratio; calculating an amount of NH.sub.3 stored in an SCR catalyst; calculating an amount of NOx which will flow into the SCR catalyst; determining whether conversion to a rich air/fuel ratio is desired; calculating, when the conversion to the rich air/fuel ratio is desired, a rich duration for which the rich air/fuel ratio is maintained and a target air/fuel ratio; and operating the engine at the target air/fuel ratio for the rich duration.
LAYERED TRI-METALLIC CATALYTIC ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE CATALYTIC ARTICLE
The present invention provides a tri-metallic layered catalytic article comprising a first layer comprising palladium supported on at least one of an oxygen storage component, and an alumina component; a second layer comprising platinum and rhodium, each supported on at least one of an oxygen storage component and a zirconia component; and a substrate, wherein the weight ratio of palladium to platinum is in the range of 1.0:0.4 to 1:2. The present invention also provides a process for preparing the tri-metallic layered catalytic article, an exhaust system for internal combustion engine and use of the tri-metallic layered catalytic article for purifying a gaseous exhaust stream.

An exhaust gas purifying catalyst includes: a wall-flow structure substrate including an inlet cell, an outlet cell, and a porous partition; a first catalyst layer formed inside the partition such that a thickness of the first catalyst layer is between 40% and 60%, inclusive, of an overall thickness T.sub.w of the partition; and a second catalyst layer formed inside the partition such that the second catalyst layer extends across an entire region of the partition in a thickness direction thereof.
