JMZ-1S, A CHA-CONTAINING MOLECULAR SIEVE AND METHODS OF PREPARATION
JMZ-1S, a silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieve having a CHA structure and containing a trimethyl(cyclohexylmethyl)ammonium cation cation is described. A calcined product, JMZ-1SC, formed from JMZ-1S is also described. Methods of preparing JMZ-1S, JMZ-1SC and metal containing calcined counterparts of JMZ-1SC are described along with methods of using JMZ-1SC and metal containing calcined counterparts of JMZ-1SC in treating exhaust gases and in converting methanol to olefines.
Methods for the treatment of a flue gas stream using catalytically-enhanced sorbent compositions
A sorbent composition that is useful for injection into a flue gas stream of a coal burning furnace to efficiently remove mercury from the flue gas stream. The sorbent composition may include a sorbent with an associated ancillary catalyst component that is a catalytic metal, a precursor to a catalytic metal, a catalytic metal compound or a precursor to a catalytic metal compound. Alternatively, a catalytic metal or metal compound, or their precursors, may be admixed with the coal feedstock prior to or during combustion in the furnace, or may be independently injected into a flue gas stream. A catalytic promoter may also be used to enhance the performance of the catalytic metal or metal compound.
Zeolite synthesis with alkaline earth metal
Provided are a novel form of AFX zeolite, a novel synthesis technique for producing pure phase small pore zeolites, a novel synthesis method for producing a zeolite with an increased Al pair content, a catalyst comprising the AFX zeolite in combination with a metal, and methods of using the same.
Multi-functional composition of matter for rapid removal of mercury from a flue gas
A multi-functional composition of matter that is useful for injection into a flue gas stream to rapidly and efficiently remove mercury from the flue gas stream. The multi-functional composition of matter may include a fixed carbon sorbent and minerals, halogens in the form of halide salts, as well as other physical and chemical properties to enhance (1) the oxidation reaction kinetics for the oxidation of mercury species and (2) the mass diffusion kinetics of the mercury species.
Multi-functional composition of matter for removal of mercury from high temperature flue gas streams
A multi-functional composition of matter that is useful for injection into a flue gas stream to rapidly and efficiently remove mercury from the flue gas streams, particularly at above average flue stream temperatures of about 340 F. or higher. The multi-functional composition of matter may include a fixed carbon content of at least about 20 wt. %, a mineral content of from about 20 wt. % to about 50 wt. %, a sum of micropore plus mesopore volume of at least about 0.20 cc/g, a micropore volume to mesopore volume ratio of at least about 0.7, and a tapped density of not greater than about 0.575 g/ml. These compositions may be further characterized by number of particles per gram of the composition of matter such that the composition may have at least about 0.8 billion particles per gram, or even as many as 1.5 billion particles per gram. These physical and chemical properties may enhance (1) the oxidation reaction kinetics for the oxidation of mercury species, (2) frequency of contact events, and (3) capture and sequestration of mercury, to achieve efficient mercury capture by the composition even in high temperature flue gas streams.
Process for energy recovery in carbon black production
A combustible gas from carbon black production is utilized in a gas engine by adding an oxygen-containing gas to the combustible gas, passing said mixed gas over a selective catalyst, which is active for oxidizing H.sub.2S to SO.sub.2 but substantially inactive for oxidation of CO, H.sub.2 and other hydrocarbons with less than 4 C-atoms, passing the converted gas through an SO.sub.2 removal step, and passing the cleaned gas to a gas engine or to an energy recovery boiler. This way, the tail gas from carbon black production, which is normally combusted in a CO boiler or incinerated, can be utilized to good effect.
TWO-STAGE AIR DRYER SYSTEM
Provided is a two-stage dryer system. The two-stage dryer system includes a cooling dehumidifier configured to condense and remove moisture contained in compressed air by cooling the compressed air flowing therein, and then discharge the compressed air; and a deliquescent dehumidifier configured to bring the compressed air discharged from the cooling dehumidifier in contact with a deliquescent agent to remove the moisture contained in the compressed air through a process of deliquescence caused by the deliquescent agent, and then discharge the air with the moisture removed.
Hybrid binary catalysts, methods and uses thereof
The present disclosure describes hybrid binary catalysts (HBCs) that can be used as engine aftertreatment catalyst compositions. The HBCs provide solutions to the challenges facing emissions control. In general, the HBCs include a porous primary catalyst and a secondary catalyst. The secondary catalyst partial coats the surfaces (e.g., the internal porous surface and/or the external surface) of the primary catalyst resulting in a hybridized composition. The synthesis of the HBCs can provide a primary catalyst whose entire surface, or portions thereof, can be coated with the secondary catalyst.
Base Metal Catalyst and Method of Using Same
A method for treating the waste stream from a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) process is provided. The method comprises contacting a waste stream containing carbon monoxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and methyl bromide with a catalyst comprising a first base metal catalyst supported on an oxygen donating support that is substantially free of alumina, and at least one second base metal catalyst.
Method for forming lanthanum hydroxycarbonate nanoparticles
A hydrothermal method of preparing uniform, monodisperse ceramic lanthanum hydroxyl carbonate (LaCO.sub.3OH) having cherry-blossom-like nanogears and/or nanocubes is described. The method produced a hexagonal crystal with a crystal lattice in which at least on lanthanum ion is substituted with calcium ion. The ceramic nanoparticles produced by the method are good catalyst for the reduction of nitrogen oxides with a hydrocarbon. A method of reducing exhaust gases is described.
