In an exhaust gas purification catalyst, a catalytic component (100) containing a first oxide (21), a second oxide (22), and a precious metal (30) is supported on a three-dimensional structure (10); the ratio of the amount of precious metal (30) supported on the first oxide (21) to the total amount of precious metal (30) supported on the first oxide (21) and precious metal (30) supported on the second oxide (22), or the ratio of the amount of precious metal (30) supported on the second oxide (22) to the total amount of precious metal (30) supported on the first oxide (21) and precious metal (30) supported on the second oxide (22) is 70% or more to 100% or less, as measured by an electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA); and the amount of carbon monoxide that the precious metal (30) can adsorb per unit mass is 15 mL/g or more to 100 mL/g or less.
Exhaust Gas Purification Catalyst
In accordance with the technology herein disclosed, an exhaust gas purification catalyst exhibiting a high exhaust gas purifying performance using a new rare earth-containing material is provided. The exhaust gas purification catalyst herein disclosed includes a base material and a catalyst layer formed on the surface of the base material. The catalyst layer of such an exhaust gas purification catalyst includes rare earth-carrying alumina 50 including a primary particle of a rare earth particle 40 including at least one rare earth element carried on the surface of an alumina carrier 30 including alumina, and the average particle diameter D.sub.50 based on TEM observation of the rare earth particle 40 in the rare earth-carrying alumina 50 is 10 nm or less. As a result of this, it is possible to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst having high NOx adsorption performance and CO adsorption performance
TRANSITION METAL INCORPORATED ALUMINA FOR IMPROVED THREE WAY CATALYSTS
A three-way catalyst article, and its use in an exhaust system for internal combustion engines, is disclosed. The catalyst article for treating exhaust gas comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end and an outlet end with an axial length L; and a first catalytic region on the substrate; wherein the first catalytic region comprises a first PGM component and a first alumina, wherein the first alumina is doped with a first dopant of at least 5 wt. %, and wherein the first dopant is selected from the group consisting of Zr, Ta, Mo, W, Ti, Nb, and a combination thereof.
METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF AN EXHAUST GAS AND AN HVAC SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a method for the treatment of an exhaust gas comprising carbon monoxide (CO) and/or one or more volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using a PGM-free catalyst article comprising a mixed oxide of Mn, Cu, Mg, Al and La. The present invention also relates to an HVAC system comprising a PGM-free catalyst article.

Methods for exhaust gas purification, including the steps of: attaching an exhaust gas purification catalyst to an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, and supplying an exhaust gas to the exhaust gas purification catalyst, where the exhaust gas purification catalyst includes an upper layer containing first carrier particles which are particles of an inorganic oxide and rhodium, and a lower layer containing second carrier particles which are particles of an inorganic oxide, the upper layer includes a rhodium-rich portion near the surface of the upper layer on the upstream side of the exhaust gas flow, and the existence range of the rhodium-rich portion is in a range of greater than 50% to 80% of the length of the upper layer from a downstream side end of an exhaust gas flow and of less than 20 μm in the depth direction from an outermost surface of the upper layer.
Catalytically active particulate filter
The present invention relates to a particulate filter which comprises a wall-flow filter of length L and two different catalytically active coatings Y and Z, wherein the wall flow filter comprises channels E and A that extend in parallel between a first and a second end of the wall-flow filter and are separated by porous walls which form the surfaces O.sub.E and O.sub.A, respectively, and wherein the channels E are closed at the second end and the channels A are closed at the first end. The invention is characterized in that the coating Y is located in the channels E on the surfaces O.sub.E and the coating Z is located in the porous walls.
CATALYST, HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE, AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFIER
In an aspect of the present disclosure, a catalyst includes an oxide containing 5 or more types of rare earth elements and 1 or more types of platinum group elements. The catalyst has a configuration entropy of a cation site determined based on (i) the number of types of the rare earth elements and the platinum group element that can be arranged in the cation site in a crystalline structure of the oxide, and (ii) each proportion of the rare earth elements and the platinum group element of more than 1.7R, where R is a gas constant.

A three-way catalyst article, and its use in an exhaust system for compressed natural gas engines, is disclosed. The catalyst article for treating exhaust gas from compressed natural gas (CNG) engine comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end with an axial length L; a first catalytic region beginning at the outlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the first catalytic region comprises a first zeolite; and a second catalytic region beginning at the inlet end, wherein the second catalytic region comprises a second platinum group metal (PGM) component, a second oxygen storage capacity (OSC) material, and a second inorganic oxide; wherein the second PGM component is selected from the group consisting of palladium, platinum, rhodium or a combination thereof.

The present invention relates to a particulate filter which comprises a wall-flow filter of length L and two different catalytically active coatings Y and Z, wherein the wall-flow filter comprises channels E and A that extend in parallel between a first and a second end of the wall-flow filter and are separated by porous walls which form the surfaces O.sub.E and O.sub.A, respectively, and wherein the channels E are closed at the second end and the channels A are closed at the first end, and wherein the coatings Y and Z have the same oxygen storage components and the same carrier materials for noble metals. The invention is characterized in that the coating Y is located in the channels E on the surfaces O.sub.E and the coating Z is located in the channels A on the surfaces O.sub.A.
POWDER OF COMPLEX OXIDE CONTAINING CERIUM AND ZIRCONIUM ELEMENTS, EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST COMPOSITION USING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME
An object of the present invention is to provide a powder of a CeO.sub.2—ZrO.sub.2-based complex oxide which enables to achieve an improvement in the purification performance at a low to middle temperature of an exhaust gas purification catalyst, and, in order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides a powder of a CeO.sub.2—ZrO.sub.2-based complex oxide, wherein a pore volume with from-10-to-100-nm diameters after a heat treatment performed at 1,000° C. for 3 hours in an air atmosphere, is 0.35 mL/g or more, and wherein an amount of carbon dioxide desorbed after the heat treatment, as measured by a temperature programmed desorption method, is 80 μmol/g or more.
