Exhaust gas purifying catalyst and method for producing the same
An exhaust gas purifying catalyst with an excellent effect of suppressing deterioration due to aggregation of a noble metal catalyst during endurance at high temperature, and a production method therefor. The method for producing the exhaust gas purifying catalyst that has a porous carrier and a noble metal catalyst supported thereon includes: preparing the porous carrier that contains alumina-ceria-zirconia composite oxide particles and has physical property values, after subjected to baking at 900 C. for 5 hours, of a pore diameter of the particles in the range of 2 to 20 nm, a specific surface area of the particles in the range of 75 to 115 m.sup.2/g, a crystallite size of a ceria-zirconia composite oxide contained in the particles in the range of 4 to 6 nm, and a bulk density of the particles in the range of 0.5 to 0.9 cm.sup.3/g, and bringing a noble metal chemical solution having an aggregate of platinum or the like with a grain size adjusted to less than or equal to 1 nm with the use of a platinum nitric acid solution or the like, into contact with the porous carrier, so that the noble metal catalyst is supported on the porous carrier.
Honeycomb air filter and methods thereof
An air filter, including: at least one wall-flow honeycomb particulate filter having at least one coat on at least a portion of the interior surface of the filter, wherein the at least one coat comprises at least one of: a sorbent; a catalyst; or a combination thereof, and the air filter, in-use, retains from filtered air at least one of: a particulate, a volatile organic compound, or a combination thereof. Also disclosed is an interior air purification system including the air filter, and methods of making and using the air filter.
METHANE OXIDATION CATALYST, PROCESS TO PREPARE THE SAME AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
The present invention provides a method of treating an exhaust gas comprising methane and NO. The exhaust gas is contacted with a catalyst in the presence of oxygen to oxidize at least part of the methane in the gas stream to carbon dioxide and water and at least part of the NO into NO.sub.2 obtaining a treated gas stream. The catalyst comprises one or more noble metals supported on non-modified zirconia, wherein the zirconia comprises tetragonal zirconia and monoclinic zirconia, and wherein the weight ratio of tetragonal zirconia to monoclinic zirconia is in the range of from 1:1 to 31:1.

A method and a system for treating emissions using the catalyst are also described.
Methods Utilizing Non-Zeolitic Metal-Containing Molecular Sieves Having The CHA Crystal Structure
Catalysts comprising metal-loaded non-zeolitic molecular sieves having the CHA crystal structure, including Cu-SAPO-34, and methods for treating exhaust gas incorporating such catalysts are disclosed. The catalysts can be used to remove nitrogen oxides from a gaseous medium across a broad temperature range and exhibit hydrothermal stability at high reaction temperatures.
Compositions for Passive NOx Adsorption (PNA) Systems and Methods of Making and Using Same
The present disclosure relates to a substrate containing passive NO.sub.x adsorption (PNA) materials for treatment of gases, and washcoats for use in preparing such a substrate.
