A three-way catalyst article, and its use in an exhaust system for internal combustion engines, is disclosed. The catalyst article for treating exhaust gas comprising: a substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end with an axial length L; an inlet catalyst layer beginning at the inlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the inlet catalyst layer comprises an inlet palladium component; an outlet catalyst layer beginning at the outlet end and extending for less than the axial length L, wherein the outlet catalyst layer comprises an outlet rhodium component; and wherein the outlet catalyst layer overlaps with the inlet catalyst layer.

A catalytic article for treating an exhaust gas stream containing particulate matter, hydrocarbons, CO, and ammonia, the article may include: (a) a substrate having an inlet end and an outlet end defining an axial length; (b) a first catalyst coating including: 1) a platinum group metal distributed on a molecular sieve, and 2) a base metal distributed on a molecular sieve; and (c) a second catalyst coating including: 1) a platinum group metal distributed on a molecular sieve, and 2) a base metal distributed on a molecular sieve.
Vehicle exhaust component
An exhaust component for a motor vehicle includes a wall, an internal volume, an inlet, and an outlet. The wall includes a core layer having a surface and a first layer disposed on a portion of the surface. The portion is less than 100 percent of an area of the surface. The core layer has a first composition. The first layer is a cold-sprayed layer. The core layer has a second composition different from the first composition. The first layer reduces surface-radiated noise from the exhaust component during operation of the motor vehicle. The internal volume is at least partially defined by the wall. The inlet is in fluid communication with the internal volume. The outlet is in fluid communication with the internal volume.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST
Provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst having a catalyst performance and an OSC performance in a compatible manner in an air-fuel ratio (A/F) rich atmosphere where HC poisoning is likely to occur. The exhaust gas purification catalyst includes a substrate and a catalyst coating layer coated on the substrate. The catalyst coating layer includes a first catalyst coating layer containing Pd and/or Pt as a catalyst metal and a second catalyst coating layer containing Rh as a catalyst metal. The first catalyst coating layer is formed from an end portion in an upstream side with respect to an exhaust gas flow direction in the exhaust gas purification catalyst. The second catalyst coating layer includes a high specific surface area OSC material having a specific surface area of more than 40 m.sup.2/g, a medium specific surface area OSC material having a specific surface area of 4 m.sup.2/g to 40 m.sup.2/g, and a low specific surface area OSC material having a specific surface area of less than 4 m.sup.2/g.
THREE-WAY-CATALYST
The present invention relates to a three-way catalyst (TWC) for treatment of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines operated with a predominantly stoichiometric air/fuel ratio, so called spark ignited engines.
NOVEL MULTI-REGION TWC FOR TREATMENT OF EXHAUST GAS FROM GASOLINE ENGINE
Disclosed are a three-way catalyst product, and the use thereof in an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine. The catalyst product for exhaust gas treatment contains a carrier comprising an inlet end and an outlet end and having an axial length L; a first catalytic region starting from the inlet end and extending by a length less than the axial length L, wherein the first catalytic region contains a first palladium component; a second catalytic region starting from the outlet end and extending by a length less than the axial length L, wherein the second catalytic region contains a second palladium component; and a third catalytic region starting from the outlet end and extending by a length less than the axial length L, wherein the third catalytic region contains a third rhodium component, and the third catalytic region is stacked on the second catalytic region.
Zoned diesel oxidation catalyst
An oxidation catalyst is described for treating an exhaust gas from a diesel engine, which oxidation catalyst comprises: a substrate; a first washcoat region disposed on the substrate, wherein the first washcoat region comprises a first platinum group metal (PGM) and a first support material; a second washcoat region adjacent to the first washcoat region, wherein the second washcoat region comprises a second platinum group metal (PGM) and a second support material; a third washcoat region disposed on the substrate, wherein the third washcoat region comprises a third platinum group metal (PGM) and a third support material; and wherein either: (i) the third washcoat region is adjacent to the second washcoat region; or (ii) the second washcoat region is disposed or supported on the third washcoat region. Also described are uses and methods involving the oxidation catalyst.
SCR with turbo and ASC/DOC close-coupled system
A catalyst article including a substrate with an inlet end and an outlet end, a first zone and a second zone, where the first zone comprises: a) an ammonia slip catalyst (ASC) bottom layer comprising a platinum group metal on a support; and b) an SCR layer comprising a second SCR catalyst, the SCR layer located over the ASC bottom layer; where the second zone comprises a catalyst (second zone catalyst) selected from the group consisting of a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and a diesel exotherm catalyst (DEC); wherein the ASC bottom layer extends into the second zone; and where the first zone is located upstream of the second zone. The ASC bottom layer may include a blend of: (1) the platinum group metal on a support and (2) a first SCR catalyst.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION CATALYST
The present disclosure provides the exhaust gas purification catalyst capable of efficiently converting HC in the upstream region relative to the exhaust gas flow direction in the exhaust gas purification catalyst and capable of efficiently converting NOx in the downstream region relative to the exhaust gas flow direction in the exhaust gas purification catalyst while maintaining the good warming-up performance. The present disclosure relates to an exhaust gas purification catalyst including a monolith substrate formed by a catalyst carrier and a catalyst coat layer coated on the monolith substrate, in which the monolith substrate contains Pd, the catalyst coat layer includes a downstream coat layer, the downstream coat layer contains Rh, a density of the downstream coat layer is in a specific range, the exhaust gas purification catalyst has an upstream region (upstream portion) relative to an exhaust gas flow direction and a downstream region (downstream portion) excluding the upstream region and the upstream portion has a Pd concentration higher than a Pd concentration in the downstream portion.
STRUCTURE
There is provided a structure including: a substrate including a first and a second ends, and a porous partition wall defining a first and a second cells extending between the first and the second ends; a first catalyst; and a second catalyst. In a first area, the first catalyst is disposed on a first surface of the partition wall, and the partition wall with the first catalyst disposed on the partition wall is impermeable to gas. In a second area, the first catalyst is not provided, the second catalyst is disposed in a region including at least a part inside the partition wall, the part facing the first cell, and the partition wall with the second catalyst disposed in the partition wall is permeable to gas. In a third area, any of the first catalyst or the second catalyst is not provided, and the partition wall is permeable to gas.
