Disclosed is a bypass system for use with off gases that have exited a cement kiln utilized in a cement making process. The bypass system is adapted to remove both NOx and volatile components that are present in the off gases while the off gases are in the bypass duct.

SORBENT INJECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TREATING FLUE GASES

The present application provides a method of treating flue gas in a duct with an injection system, the flue gas comprising an acid gas and/or one or more metal components, the injection system comprising at least one injection nozzle in communication with an air supply and a supply of sorbent; wherein the method comprises supplying air and sorbent through the nozzle to the duct such that the penetration of the sorbent into the duct is represented by the formula: Y=(D.sub.na(p.sub.nV.sub.n.sup.2/p.sub.fV.sub.f.sup.2).sup.0.5(x/D.sub.n).sup.0.33)/D.sub.f where Y is the fraction of duct penetration depth of the sorbent when the duct length is x, D.sub.n is the diameter of the nozzle, D.sub.f is the depth of the duct, p.sub.n and p.sub.f are the densities of the air supply and flue gas, respectively V.sub.n and V.sub.f are the velocities of the air exiting the nozzle and the flue gas, respectively, and where a is between 0.3 and 1.0 and where Y is between 0.3 and 0.8.

WATER FAUCET HAVING A CAPSULE-BASED FILTER

A water faucet or water tap includes, in its base area or other suitable area or region, a built-in or embedded or integrated filtering mechanism. The filtering mechanism includes a nonelectrical filtering chamber, having a cavity for securing therein a replaceable water-filtering capsule. A suitable water-filtering capsule, having an active filtering component or a passive filtering component, is inserted into the non-electrical filtering chamber, and can be removed from it for periodical replacement. Optionally, the water-filtering capsule includes a scent-producing agent, a flavor-producing agent, or a nutrient or a supplement, which are added to the filtered water. Optionally, a bypass mechanism or water-diverting mechanism enables to select between: a first mode in which a first water-outlet outputs non-filtered mixed hot-and-cold water; and a second mode in which a second water-outlet outputs filtered cold water or filtered room-temperature water.
