Examples of systems, apparatus and methods for separating oxygen from air are provided herein. The system comprises a separating column that includes an oxygen separating compound packed in the column for selectively and reversibly binding oxygen from the air and for releasing the selectively bound oxygen upon being heated, a heater thermally coupled to the separating column, a heat removal apparatus and an air flow controller.
Dual filter for moisture removal from a fluid flow
A dual filter (100) for removing one or more components from a fluid flow is provided. The dual filter (100) comprises a first filter media (112a) and a second filter media (112b) respectively disposed in a first conduit (114a) and a second conduit (114b), and at least one manifold (120, 130) coupled to a pair of openings (116a,b) of the conduits (114a, b) wherein the at least one manifold (120, 130) is adapted to monitor and control the fluid flow through one of the filter media (112a,b).
Pulsed pressure swing adsorption system and method
A pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system and methods for controlling each PSA cycle performed by the PSA system to produce oxygen enriched gas during productive portions of a user breathing cycle, and to cease production of oxygen enriched gas during non-productive portions of the user breathing cycle, is provided. The PSA system synchronizes PSA cycle phases including adsorption and desorption phases with a user's individual inhalation and exhalation phases, on a breath by breath basis, such that each PSA cycle can be dynamically varied from a succeeding PSA cycle, in real time in response to variations in the user's breathing cycle. An oxygen delivery device including a breathing cycle sensor provides breathing cycle inputs to a controller for use with at least one algorithm to detect breathing flow phases during each user breath, and to synchronize each PSA cycle to the user's breathing flow phases, on a breath-by-breath basis.
PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION (PSA) DEVICE AND PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION METHOD
According to one aspect of the present invention, a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) device includes an adsorption tower configured to introduce hydrogen gas and adsorb impurity components in the hydrogen gas by using a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) method, an adsorbent of one layer made of activated carbon or an adsorbent of two layers in which activated carbon and zeolite are stacked being disposed in the adsorption tower, the hydrogen gas containing carbon monoxide (CO) of 0.5 vol % or more and 6.0 vol % or less and methane (CH.sub.4) of 0.4 vol % or more and 10 vol % or less as the impurity components; and a densitometer configured to detect a concentration of CO in the hydrogen gas discharged from the adsorption tower, wherein the impurity components are adsorbed and removed to cause the CO concentration measured by the densitometer to fall below a threshold.
Reducing Fluctuations in Tail Gas Flow from an Adsorption Unit
Pressure swing adsorption process for reducing fluctuations in the flow rate of tail gas from the adsorption unit. The flow rate of the stream of blowdown gas is regulated responsive signals from a sensor measuring the pressure and/or flow rate of the tail gas comprising the blowdown gas and purge gas effluent before the tail gas is introduced into a surge vessel.
Separation process and apparatus for light noble gas
Process and apparatus for producing helium, neon, or argon product gas using an adsorption separation unit having minimal dead end volumes. A purification unit receives a stream enriched in helium, neon, or argon, and a stream is recycled from the purification unit back to the adsorption separation unit in a controlled manner to maintain the concentration of the helium, neon, or argon in the feed to the separation unit within a targeted range.

Method for using natural gas fuel to improve performance of pressure swing adsorption hydrogen unit in an integrated facility
A process is disclosed for increasing hydrogen recovery in an integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in which natural gas is used as a co-purge gas in a pressure swing adsorption unit. This natural gas is recovered in tail gas from the pressure swing adsorption unit. This process is useful for refinery off-gas and partial oxidation feeds.
