Remote Monitoring of Pressure Swing Adsorption Units

A piece of equipment commonly used in many petrochemical and refinery processes is a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit. A PSA unit may be used to recover and purify hydrogen process streams, such as from hydrocracking and hydrotreating process streams. Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to monitoring PSA unit processes for potential and existing issues, providing alerts, and/or adjusting operating conditions to optimize PSA unit life. There are many process performance indicators that may be monitored including, but not limited to, flow rates, chemical analyzers, temperature, and/or pressure. In addition, valve operation may be monitored, including opening speed, closing speed, and performance. The system may adjust one or more operating characteristics to decrease the difference between the actual operating performance in the recent and the optimal operating performance.

The invention relates to a set for separating two or more gases from each other, including: a first adsorption column set comprising at least two columns in series; an optional number of additional column sets comprising additional columns; connectors connecting each parallel additional column to the column; auxiliary equipment feeding a gas mixture to the columns and additional columns jointly and discharging separated gases according to pressure swing adsorption.

Apparatus and system for swing adsorption processes related thereto

Provided are apparatus and systems for performing a swing adsorption process. This swing adsorption process may involve passing streams through adsorbent bed units to remove contaminants, such as water, from the stream. As part of the process, the adsorbent bed unit is purged with a purge stream that is provided from the overhead of the demethanizer. The configuration integrates a PPSA dehydration system with a cryogenic recovery system.

PROCESS REDUCING ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN GAS FERMENTATION

Converting carbon sources that would otherwise be vented to the atmosphere or discarded as waste to one or more products. Carbon sources may be dilute carbon containing streams that are purified to from about 90 vol.-% to about 95 vol.-% carbon compound. In certain aspects, also disclosed are the processes for producing desirable products, such as ethylene, from industrial waste streams.

Apparatus and system for swing adsorption processes related thereto

Provided are apparatus and systems for performing a swing adsorption process. This swing adsorption process may involve passing streams through adsorbent bed units to remove contaminants, such as water, from the stream. As part of the process, the adsorbent bed unit is purged with a purge stream that is provided at a temperature less than 450 F. The de-contaminated stream may be used with a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant or other subsequent process requiring a de-contaminated stream. The swing adsorption process may involve a combined TSA and PSA process, which is utilized to remove contaminants from the feed stream.

Sequential removal of NGLs from a natural gas stream

Disclosed is a method of sequentially separating and recovering one or more NGLs (129, 229) from a natural gas feedstream (3). Specifically, a raw natural gas feedstream (3) is passed through two or more NGLs separation unit (100, 200) wherein each separation unit removes one or more NGLs from the natural gas feedstream to provide a methane-rich natural gas supply (205). Each separation unit employs an adsorption media and has an adsorption step and a media regeneration step wherein the regeneration step may be operated as a batch process, a semi-continuous process, or a continuous process. One embodiment of this method provides for the use of a different regenerable adsorbent media in each separation unit.
