A process for producing nitrogen-rich air by feeding high temperature air at 150? C. or more to an air separation membrane module is described. After being placed at 175? C. for two hours, the air separation module exhibits a shape-retention ratio of 95% or more in one embodiment. The nitrogen-rich air can be fed to a fuel tank for an aircraft, for example.

A filter assembly that includes a water separator as part of the filter assembly. The water separator is arranged in the filter assembly and includes a filter element that is provided with a hydrophobic medium through which fuel/lubricant can pass through. The filter assembly also includes a water separator positioned downstream from the filter element. During the operation of the filter assembly, the water separator causes the water in the fuel to be separated and accumulate on the hydrophobic surface of the water separator and, due to the gravity, allows the water to flow downwards along the surface of the water separator into a water collection/sedimentation chamber where it can be evacuated from the filter through one or more passageways.

WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS USING REVERSE OSMOSIS

Disclosed is a water treatment apparatus using reverse osmosis including: a PV module including a plurality of reverse osmosis modules arranged at multiple stages and connected to one another such that concentrate of one stage is fed to the following stage; a raw water supply pump feeding raw water to the PV module; a circulation pipe returning product water processed by several reverse osmosis modules disposed at rear stages of the PV module, to be mixed with the raw water; and a product water discharge pipe discharging product water processed by the remaining reverse osmosis modules disposed at front stages of the PV module, out of the PV module. The water treatment apparatus can reduce the TDS concentrations of product water and raw water while minimizing the volume loss of product water by returning a portion of the product water processed by the PV module to be circulated.

Gas separation membrane module for reactive gas service

A gas separation membrane module includes a seal between a higher pressure gas and a lower pressure gas. The seal includes a compressible sealing member in between sealing surfaces. At least one of the sealing surfaces has corrosion-resistant cladding provided over either low alloy steel or high alloy steel. The cladding reduce the possibility of a seal failure due to corrosion of low alloy or high alloy steel exposed to acid gases or condensed moisture containing acid gases dissolved therein while at the same not requiring that all surfaces of the membrane module exposed to acid gases be provided with cladding.

A device for forming a liquid treatment apparatus includes a main part; and a receiving part including a cavity for receiving a connecting head of a replaceable liquid treatment cartridge having at least one port in liquid communication with an interior of the liquid treatment cartridge such that the at least one port(s) of the connecting head are in sealed liquid communication with corresponding ports of the receiving part. The receiving part is journalled for movement between a first and a second position with respect to the main part whilst the connecting head is inserted in the cavity. The head is insertable into and retractable from the cavity in the first position. The liquid treatment cartridge is lockable to the device by at least moving the receiving part with the inserted connecting head into the second position.

A filter housing may define a filter cavity comprising an upstream portion and a downstream portion. The filter may further comprise a filter element disposed in the filter cavity.
