20240151614 · 2024-05-09 ·

An isolation device includes an isolation chip, a pressing assembly, two ultrasonic generators, a differential pressure driving system, a frequency conversion module, and a controller. The isolation chip includes a sample reservoir, a first chamber, and a second chamber. The pressing assembly drives the two ultrasonic generators to move towards the isolation chip to make in contact with the first and second chambers. The frequency conversion module controls the differential pressure driving system to generate a negative pressure in the first and second chambers alternately. The controller controls the two ultrasonic generators to generate two ultrasonic waves when negative pressures are cancelled in the first and second chambers. An isolation method is also disclosed.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACOUSTICALLY-ENHANCED MEMBRANE SEPARATION
20240181400 · 2024-06-06 ·

Systems and methods for acoustically-enhanced membrane separation are described. The system may generally include a separation membrane and an acoustically-responsive structure positioned proximate the upstream side of the separation membrane. The system may further include a transducer for generating an acoustic field, wherein the acoustic field causes microstructures extending from the acoustically-responsive structure to oscillate and thereby create streaming effects in the region between the distal ends of the microstructures and the upstream side of the separation membrane. These streaming effects can prevent or remove separation membrane fouling, prevent the formation of cake layers on the separation membrane, and/or remove cake layer formed on a separation membrane.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PURIFICATION OF DRINKING WATER, ETHANOL AND ALCOHOL BEVERAGES OF IMPURITIES

A system and method of the purification of drinking water, ethanol and alcohol beverages is based on the action of hydrodynamic cavitation processing of microbiological and chemical contaminants, micro particles and colloidal particles. The fluid flow moves at a high rate through a multi-stage cavitation device and filtration module to generate hydrodynamic cavitation features in the fluid flow. The cavitation features generate changes in the velocity, pressure, temperature, chemical composition and physical properties of the liquid. The cavitation features also prevent the deposition of contaminants upon and remove contaminants from the surface of the filter module, reduce the load on the filter elements and increase the life of the filter module.

Reverse osmosis system

A method is provided for sanitizing a reverse osmosis system to supply high-purity permeate. Included in the method is supplying raw water to a feed tank and to a filter module using a raw-water inlet line having an inlet valve. A primary circuit is provided, and has a first pump connected to the filter module. A secondary circuit is provided, and has a second pump and a heater, both of which are connected to the filter module. The primary circuit is separated from the secondary circuit using a semipermeable membrane disposed in the filter module. The secondary circuit of the reverse osmosis system is cleaned or disinfected while the raw-water inlet line is in a disconnected state and the inlet valve is in a closed state using the second pump and the heater.

Filtration system for filtration of solids from a liquid

Filtration systems and methods for removing a filter residue from a filter employed in filtering a liquid (for example, grey water). The filtration system may include a vessel having an inlet through which a liquid can be introduced during use and an outlet through which filtered clean liquid can exit. A filter configured to filter the liquid is disposed within the vessel between the inlet and the outlet. The filtration system may further include at least one transducer disposed on or adjacent to the filter. The at least one transducer may be configured to generate one or more pressure waves effective to dislodge at least some residue materials collected on an upstream side of the filter.

A method and apparatus for improved separation and containment of radioactive particulates from liquids by filtration. The improvements are achieved by utilizing more than one stage of filtration to remove radioactive particulates from a fluid. The first stage of filtration is designed for high liquid flowrate, low differential pressure across the filter medium, and reversibility of flow through the medium to facilitate backwashing. The second or more stages of filtration receive the backwash flow and captured particulates from the first stage at a lower flowrate, but at high pressure using a high-pressure pump configured between the stages.
