An evaporative element for use in a humidifier. In order to reduce the amount of chloride species evaporated into the air with the water, the evaporate element includes a dechlorination agent, such as sulfur compounds, ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbate, or combinations thereof. The dechlorination agent can be applied to the water retaining elements of the evaporate element or to the rigid members used to support the water retaining elements.

The present invention is directed to a digital aroma system that provides a scented air on demand to various devices in various forms and user held devices including: remote controls, video game controllers and mobile computing devices. Dry fragrance infused substrates are contained in fragrance cartridges that are removably mounted in a cassette that is connected to a manifold that has airway passages that are connected to fans or pumps that are controlled by a computer processor. An ergonomic scent diffuser having a first housing with electrical components connected to a second housing having a heating element disposed within. Slidably connected to the second housing is a cap. The cap has depressions adjacent an outer end to provide an ergonomic grip. The cap also has guide rails and retaining members that retain and position a fragrance emitting member over the heating element.

An air scrubber has an electrically driven fan and a drum having a mat forming a closed circulating band spanning a support of the drum. The mat is electrically rotatably driven about a rotation axis, wherein a lower part of the drum is immersed in a water basin. The mat can be removed from the drum by a movement in the axial direction and pushed back on again by a movement in the axial direction.

A media pad apparatus for a portable air cooler includes a frame having a top end and a media pad disposed within the frame. A top tray is provided on the top end of the frame and includes opposed walls, the opposed walls sloping downwardly from upper edges thereof to join at a common lower edge and create a generally V-shaped profile of the top tray. The top tray further includes a plurality of openings in the opposed walls spaced along a length of the top tray, wherein when fluid is provided to the top tray, the openings dispense the fluid through the top tray along the length thereof to wet the media pad in a spatially distributed manner. A portable air cooler with a media pad apparatus removably received therein is also disclosed.

A vertical humidifier with a stepped evaporator includes a housing. An evaporative water trough is provided inside the housing, and the stepped evaporator is provided in the evaporative water trough. A fan is mounted under the stepped evaporator, and an air inlet end of the fan is communicated with an air inlet of the housing. A water tank is further mounted at the upper portion of the evaporative water trough, the stepped evaporator is mounted around the lower portion of the water tank, and the water tank is further communicated with the evaporative water trough through a water inlet. An air outlet is provided at the upper portion of the housing, and the air outlet is communicated with an air outlet end of the fan. The stepped evaporator is arranged in an airflow channel between the air outlet and the air outlet end of the fan.

A wicking evaporative humidifier in which cartridge that includes a pad is inserted directly into an air flow through the wall of a duct that distributes conditioned air throughout a structure. A portion of the cartridge may be inserted into a tray filled with water, which may use capillary forces to wick water through the cartridge to the area of the cartridge that is inserted through the duct and within the air flow. Air passing through duct and through and around the cartridge pad evaporates the moisture wicked into the pad and distributes the moisture throughout the structure.
