Evaporative cycles of concentration control
A cycles of concentration (COC) control process and system for an evaporative media cooling system having a water storage tank in fluid communication with a drain valve and a refill valve is disclosed. In one step, the COC control process includes the step of executing a plurality of discrete refill events to maintain a level or volume of water within the storage tank. In another step, the COC control process includes the step of executing a discrete drain event, equaling the volume of a refill event, after a discrete refill event has been executed when necessary to maintain a target cycles of concentration value of the water within the storage tank. In one embodiment, a discrete drain event is executed when the number of refill events is greater than or equals a target cycles of concentration of the water in the storage tank.
FRAGRANCE DELIVERY SYSTEM
A fragrance dispensing system for an aircraft that includes a fuselage defining a cabin interior and an environmental control system (ECS). The ECS includes a source of air that moves air between the source of air and the cabin interior along an airflow path, a mixer unit in airflow communication with the source of air and positioned downstream from the source of air in the airflow path, at least a first air duct positioned in the airflow path between the mixer unit and the cabin interior, and a fragrance dispensing unit positioned between the air source and the cabin interior along the airflow path. The fragrance dispensing unit is configured to dispense at least a first fragrance into the airflow path.
Staging control for an evaporative media system
A staging control process for an evaporative media cooling system having a plurality of media stages is disclosed. In one step, a leaving air dry bulb temperature setpoint for air exiting the evaporative media cooling system is received or defined. In one aspect, an expected media exit dry bulb temperature is calculated for each media stage based on a dry bulb temperature and a wet bulb temperature of air entering the media cooling system and based on a measured or assigned condition of the media. In another aspect, an estimated combined leaving dry bulb temperature is calculated for different combinations of activated and deactivated media stages. Once the estimated leaving temperature is known, the method can then activate the media stage(s) associated with the combination that has an estimated combined leaving dry bulb temperature that is nearest to but less than the leaving air dry bulb temperature setpoint.
Hydraulic device and evaporative system with such a hydraulic device
The invention relates to a hydraulic device (15; 55) for an evaporative system (11), comprising at least one pump (22; 62) and a housing (16; 56) with a water inlet (17; 57) and one or more water outlets (19; 59), wherein the at least one pump (22; 62) is mounted on the housing (16; 56) and a water tank (20; 60) is provided by the housing (16; 56), the water tank (20; 60) being arranged between the water inlet (17; 57) and the one or more water outlets (19; 59), wherein the at least one pump is provided for pumping water through the one or more water outlets. The invention furthermore relates to an evaporative system (11) with such a hydraulic device (15; 55).
HUMIDIFICATION AND AIR CLEANING APPARATUS
Provided is a humidification and air cleaning apparatus. The humidification and air cleaning apparatus includes a water tank storing water, a visual body forming at least a portion of the water tank and formed of a transparent material, a water tank inlet formed at the water tank and communicating the inner and outer sides of the water tank, a water tank humidification medium covering the water tank inlet, formed of a water absorbing material, and providing humidification on air passing through the water tank inlet, a watering housing disposed inside the water tank, drawing water of the water tank into the inside, pumping the drawn water upwardly when rotating, and spraying the pumped water, a watering motor providing a torque to the watering housing, a lower nozzle disposed at the watering housing and spraying the pumped water to the water tank humidification medium, and a upper nozzle disposed at the watering housing and spraying the pumped water to the visual body.
APPARATUS FOR BOTH HUMIDIFICATION AND AIR CLEANING
Provided is a humidification and air cleaning apparatus. The humidification and air cleaning apparatus includes: a base body including a water tank insertion space formed therein; a water tank having an upper side thereof opened, storing water therein, placed in the water tank insertion space, and separable from the base body; a top cover assembly disposed over an opened upper part of the water tank and disposed separably from the water tank; an air wash inlet formed at a side of the water tank and receiving air into the water tank; a discharge flow passage formed in at least one of the top cover assembly and the water tank, or formed between the top cover assembly and the water tank; and a water supply flow passage disposed inside the top cover assembly and guiding water into the water tank.
APPARATUS FOR BOTH HUMIDIFICATION AND AIR CLEANING
Provided is a humidification and air cleaning apparatus. The humidification and cleaning apparatus includes: a water tank storing water; an air wash inlet disposed in the water tank and communicating the inside of the water tank with the outside thereof; a water tank humidification medium covering the air wash inlet, formed of a material absorbing water, and humidifying air passing the air wash inlet; a watering housing disposed inside the water tank, suctioning water of the water tank thereinto, pumping the suctioned water to an upper side when rotating, and spraying the pumped water; and a watering motor providing a torque to the watering housing. Here, the water tank humidification medium is spaced from water stored in the water tank and is wetted by water sprayed from the watering unit.
