Disclosed is an ultrasonically-enhanced continuous and large-scale production method for nano-formulations. Specifically disclosed is a preparation system for continuous production of nano-formulations, comprising (a) a first pipe, (b) a second pipe, (f) an ultrasonic device, (c) a combined pipe and (e) a (fluid) outlet thereof. The first pipe and the second pipe are connected to the combined pipe. A first phase solution enters the combined pipe through a first pipe outlet, and a second phase solution enters the combined pipe through a second pipe outlet. The ultrasonic device acts on the part or the whole of the combined pipe. The first phase solution and the second phase solution are turbulently mixed in the combined pipe to form a combined phase, and flow out through the outlet of the combined pipe.

The present invention generally relates to double emulsion droplet compositions, polymer particles that can be formed from such double emulsion droplet compositions, and to methods and apparatuses for making such compositions and particles. A double emulsion generally describes larger droplets that contain smaller droplets therein. These double emulsion droplet compositions can be used to create a variety of materials including polymer particles and polymeric shells and are further useful for encapsulating a variety of species including catalyst compounds and pharmaceutical agents. The double emulsion droplet compositions disclosed herein are readily formed using planar droplet (digital) microfluidic devices without channels, and either air or an immiscible liquid as an ambient medium.

An apparatus for mitigating contamination in a fuel supply is an ultrasonic generator coupled with a piezoelectric transducer that propagates ultrasonic waves through a fuel tank. In some embodiments the apparatus is used to mitigate the growth of microbial organisms. In other embodiments the apparatus is used to emulsify water into the fuel, particularly in diesel fuel. The apparatus addresses water and microbial growth found in boats, cars, and aircraft as well as in storage tanks such as those used at fuel stations. In some embodiments, the fluid is diesel fuel.
