VALVE BODY STRUCTURE
A valve body structure is provided and includes a main pipe, a secondary pipe and a liquid storage tank, where the liquid storage tank stores a second liquid from the secondary pipe and controls whether the second liquid in the liquid storage tank flows into the main pipe by a solenoid valve, so that the second liquid is mixed with a first liquid in the main pipe. Therefore, the valve body structure can mix liquids without combining other components and has a lower cost and a smaller volume. As such, the issue of the remaining residual liquid when combined with other components for control, which reduces the control accuracy and even causes the problem of mixed pollution, can be avoided.
MULTI ADDITIVE CHANNEL HEAD
A device for automatically and selectively dispensing multiple additives into a base liquid is disclosed, where each additive is dispensed by a control mechanism that effectively shuts off and is self-cleaning. In one embodiment, each additive is provided through a channel comprising a tube, a check disk, and a fulcrum. When the pressure of a particular additive increases above a threshold, a flexure is created in the check disk, which causes an opening that allows the additive to enter a main channel where it is mixed with a base liquid. When the pressure of the liquid additive is decreased below the threshold, the check disk reverts to its original form and the additive is no longer dispensed into the base liquid. Thereafter, the base liquid cleanses the mechanism.
Systems and methods for generation of emulsions with suitable clarity with applications of use
The inventions cover systems and methods for generation of emulsions having suitable clarity without requiring refractive index matching between emulsion components. Systems can include: a substrate including a set of openings; a reservoir facing the substrate at a first side and containing a sample fluid configured for droplet formation upon interacting with the set of openings of the substrate; and a collecting container facing the substrate at a second side and containing a set of fluid layers configured with a density gradient and suitable immiscibility characteristics. One or more components of the system(s) can support methods for emulsion generation, in relation to enabling interactions between multiple continuous phases and a dispersed droplet phase to generate clear emulsions. Applications of the inventions(s) can include performance of droplet-based digital PCR in an improved manner (e.g., without requiring implementation of correction factors based upon Poisson statistics).

Device and method for producing a ready-to-use solution from a concentrate
A device and related method for producing a ready-to-use solution from a concentrate and a diluent includes an inlet for the diluent; an inlet for the concentrate; an outlet for the solution; a line extending from the inlet for the diluent via a confluence where diluent and concentrate meet, to the outlet; a mixing container arranged in the line between the confluence and the outlet and having a larger cross-section than parts of the line, which are arranged upstream and downstream of the mixing container; and a metering pump for the concentrate, which is connected on the suction side to the inlet for the concentrate and on the pressure side to the confluence and which operates in a pulsed manner. The metering pump works with a clock frequency, in which a plurality of pump surges are attributable to the dwell time of the liquid in the mixing container.

AC electrosprayed droplets for digital and emulsion PCR
The invention provides an alternating current electrospray technology that can generate micron sized droplets in oil at very high throughput for emulsion or digital PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction). This technology outperforms the throughput of the current gold standard in droplet generation using flow-focusing technology by at least a factor of 100. The design is simple and can generate a billion to a trillion monodispersed droplets in about one hour. This is much faster than flow-focusing which is limited to a few million droplets per hour. The droplet size and generation rate can also be easily adjusted by changing the voltage of the AC electric field. The range of produced droplet sizes is about 1-100 microns, wherein the droplets are monodispersed in size.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CREATING AN EMULSION
Device for creating an emulsion consisting of a dispersed phase in the form of drops in a continuous phase, the device comprising: a motion generator (11) in order to put into motion at least one first fluid (3) intended to form the dispersed phase; a first channel (21) inside which the first fluid (3) put into motion can flow, the first channel (21) extending towards an output orifice (23) through which the first fluid is injected into at least one second fluid (5) intended to form the continuous phase; a variation system (40) for varying the internal volume (Vi) of the first channel (21) over time.
