Rotation of the rotatable body subjects the treatment material to compression, expansion and shearing treatments. After passing through the annular fine gap, the treatment material flows into an ultrasonic chamber where it is irradiated with ultrasonic waves that break up and disintegrate agglomerated clumps of solid particles that may be present in the treatment material.

The carbon black is fed directly from a sonication chamber to the coagulation chamber and/or a sonication device facilitates ultrasonic mixing within the coagulation chamber. The first composition and the second composition are mixed in the coagulation chamber to form the masterbatch. The second composition may be fed to the coagulation chamber at a pressure of at least about 300 psig and/or a velocity of at least about 100 feet per second. The masterbatch may be dry mixed with an additional elastomer to form an elastomeric composite blend.

Certain aspects are related to the production of multiple liquid extract products using a single system by adjusting one or more displaceable fluidic pathway segments within the system to switch between first and second (or more) extraction configurations. In certain embodiments, a first liquid extract can be produced when the displaceable fluidic pathway segment is in a first configuration, and a second liquid extract (different from the first liquid extract) can be produced when the displaceable fluidic pathway segment in in a second configuration (different from the first configuration).
