FLUID SYNTHESIS SYSTEM
Fluid synthesis system and corresponding method for synthesis of slurry containing abrasive particles. The system and method are configured to substantially segregate the abrasive particles passing through the filter, used at the filtering step of the process, from the sticky components that clog such filter prior to the filtering step of the synthesis process to achieve a sustaining filtration of the slurry as a result of which the filter remains substantially unclogged for the whole predetermined duration of the filtering process.
ACOUSTIC MIXING FOR FLOCCULANT ADDITION TO MINERAL SUSPENSIONS
The present invention relates to a process for mixing a flocculant composition with mineral suspensions, especially waste mineral slurries, using an acoustic mixer. Preferably the flocculant composition is a polymeric flocculant composition preferably comprising a poly(ethylene oxide) homopolymer or copolymer. The process of the present invention is particularly suitable for the treatment of tailings and other waste material resulting from mineral processing, in particular, processing of oil sands tailings.
AGRICULTURAL SAMPLING SYSTEM AND RELATED METHODS
An automated computer-controlled sampling system and related methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing agricultural samples for various chemical properties such as plant available nutrients. The sampling system allows multiple samples to be processed and analyzed for different analytes or chemical properties in a simultaneous concurrent or semi-concurrent manner. Advantageously, the system can process soil samples in the as collected condition without drying or grinding. The system generally includes a sample preparation sub-system which receives soil samples collected by a probe collection sub-system and produces a slurry (e.g., mixture of soil, vegetation, and/or manure and water), and a chemical analysis sub-system which processes the prepared slurry samples for quantifying multiple analytes and/or chemical properties of the sample. The preparation sub-system may comprise a slurry recirculation flow loop configured with devices to stir, measure, and adjust a water to solids ratio of the slurry.

System and method for starting up stirring machines in a sediment
A system and an associated method for starting up stirring machines in a sediment in a controlled manner are provided, which system has the following: a container for receiving materials to be processed; a stirring device with stirring blades for stirring the materials to be processed in the container; a purging device; and a device for operating stirring machines. The purging device is arranged in such a way and set up so as to feed a medium for purging to a deposited sediment. Furthermore, a controller is provided which initiates controlled re-starting of stirring machines after purging.
Mixing and delivery method arrangement and pump for supplying small particles suspended in a liquid to form slurry for delivery
A mixing arrangement, and pump for supplying small particles suspended in a liquid to form slurry for delivery includes a container, a mixing and delivery pump having a first shaft, a rotor connected to the first shaft and arranged at an inner bottom of an inner space of the container, a first power device connected to the first shaft, and a stator having stator blades. The stator surrounds the first shaft. The arrangement includes a pump having an inlet, which is located in a stator space between two stator blades, and an outlet, and an outlet pipe having a second inlet opening connected to the outlet and a second outlet opening located outside the inner space.

System and methodology for mixing materials at a wellsite
A technique facilitates mixing of fluids for use in well treatment operations. According to an embodiment, a dry powder material, e.g. a friction reducer, may be thoroughly mixed into fluid or fluids associated with a well treatment operation. The powder material is combined with liquid, e.g. water, via a series of Venturi mixers arranged to thoroughly mix the materials. In some applications, the Venturi mixers are mounted on a modular unit which is readily moved to a desired wellsite. Additional modular units may be added to increase the amount of product being mixed according to the demands of a given well treatment operation, e.g. a hydraulic fracturing operation.
