Automated drilling-fluid additive system and method
11187050 · 2021-11-30 ·

An automated drilling-fluid additive system and method for on-site real-time analysis and additive treatment of drilling fluid to be directly injected into a well without additional storage or handling. The drilling fluid includes returned drilling fluid intended to be re-used, which has a variety of viscosity and other qualities resulting from its various preceding use. The target drilling fluid will have a variety of viscosity and other qualities depending upon and changing with various phases of drilling operations and various conditions encountered. The drilling fluid is analyzed in real time as it flows into the automated drilling-fluid additive system, and various additives are added to and thoroughly blended with the drilling fluid as needed to achieve the desired result. The blended drilling fluid is collimated to produce a laminar flow and is discharged from the automated drilling-fluid additive system in the proper condition for direct injection into a well without any storage in a holding tank and without any further processing, treatment, or handling.

TRANSPORTABLE BLENDING SYSTEM
20230311081 · 2023-10-05 · ·

A transportable blending system includes a container enclosure including a base, a roof, opposing first and second ends, and opposing first and second sidewalls, a pump fluidly coupled to an inlet manifold penetrating the container enclosure, wherein a base fluid is conveyed to the pump via the inlet manifold, and a mixing unit in fluid communication with the pump to receive the base fluid. A hopper is fluidly coupled to the mixing unit and has an inlet aligned with an opening defined in the roof, wherein an additive is delivered to the hopper via the opening to be conveyed to the mixing unit and blended with the base fluid to generate a working fluid.

SYSTEM AND METHODOLOGY FOR MIXING MATERIALS AT A WELLSITE
20230287778 · 2023-09-14 ·

A technique facilitates mixing of fluids for use in well treatment operations. According to an embodiment, a dry powder material, e.g. a friction reducer, may be thoroughly mixed into fluid or fluids associated with a well treatment operation. The powder material is combined with liquid, e.g. water, via a series of Venturi mixers arranged to thoroughly mix the materials. In some applications, the Venturi mixers are mounted on a modular unit which is readily moved to a desired wellsite. Additional modular units may be added to increase the amount of product being mixed according to the demands of a given well treatment operation, e.g. a hydraulic fracturing operation.

Mobile chemical mixing plant

A mobile chemical mixing plant includes an inlet for receiving fluid; a fluid conduit for conveying the fluid from the inlet; a container for containing a chemical therein; a chemical pump for withdrawing the chemical from the container and directing the chemical into the fluid conduit for mixing with the fluid in the fluid conduit to form a chemical mixture; and a homogenization pump for pumping the chemical mixture in the fluid conduit out of the mobile chemical mixing plant. The fluid conduit connects the chemical pump to the homogenization pump. The mobile chemical mixing plant is fixed to a trailer that is attachable to a vehicle. Because the fluid conduit directly connects the chemical pump to the homogenization pump, the mobile chemical mixing plant does not need an intervening mixing tank for mixing the fluid and the chemical.

Integrated Mobile Mud Mixing System

A portable mud mixing system for adding wet or dry components to oilfield drilling mud provides an enclosed mobile platform including at least one mud mixing hopper, at least one mud mixing tanks, a suction piping assembly and a discharge piping assembly which blend the additives within the circulating drilling mud into a homogeneous mixture, circulate the mixture, and provide for introduction of the mixture into production, the system providing transfer of the drilling mud and mixture from pre-mix to production in one singular integrated system.

Fluid management system for producing treatment fluid using containerized fluid additives

An example fluid management system for generating a fluid for a treatment operation may include a mixer and a first portable container disposed proximate to and elevated above the mixer. The first portable container may hold dry chemical additives. A feeder may be positioned below the first portable container to direct dry chemical additives from the first portable container to the mixer. The system may also include a first pump to provide fluid to the mixer from a fluid source.

The application is directed to a system and method for mixing fluid and dry material to produce fluid mixture compositions. The system may be provided on a portable platform for transport of the system for use at different locations or the system may be provided as a permanent installation. The system includes a first module for receiving fluid into the system and an optional second module attachable to the first module for providing dry material to be mixed with the fluid received into the system. The fluid mixture compositions produced by the system can be conveyed out from the system to one or more target locations.

AUTOMATED TWO-COMPONENT RESIN MIXING AND DISPENSING SYSTEM

According to some embodiments, a system and method for dispensing a floor coating in a specified ratio of multiple components is disclosed. The system and method may set and maintain a desired ratio of the multiple components by controlling, with a controller, a drive rate of respective pumps configured for propelling the components from a reservoir to a mixer or a dispenser. The controller may be responsive to at least one of a measured actual drive rate, an environmental condition, an actual usage of each component, and an operational parameter of the system, for adjusting a drive rate of the respective pumps to compensate for discrepancies that may affect the ratio of the multiple components.
