In order to create customised liquid lipsticks, a user follows a colour recipe chart 600 and dispenses the two or more base colours in the two or more dispensers in predetermined ratios to create a custom colour in the container 212. While the present description focuses on creating liquid lipsticks, it will be apparent to those with ordinary skill in the art that the handheld device 200 and the method can be used to create any other colour cosmetics or artists colours.
