MIXER AND METHOD FOR MIXING TWO COMPONENTS
The disclosure relates to a specifically static mixer for mixing two components, with a housing, in which a mixing element is accommodated, and an input part with a first intake and a diametrically opposite second intake, wherein, within the input part, a first channel is formed between the first intake and the mixing chamber and a second channel is formed between the second intake and the mixing chamber. The first channel extends radially inward from the first intake and opens into a central opening in the cover. The second channel has two partial channels as storage chambers not leading into the mixing chamber, and two intake sections located radially within the storage chambers and leading into the mixing chamber. The intake sections branch off the respective storage chambers, extend inward in the opposite direction to the first channel and open into the central opening in the cover.
MIXING CAPSULE, IN PARTICULAR FOR THE FIELD OF DENTISTRY
The invention relates to a mixing capsule (1) comprising a first chamber (2) to receive a composition A and a second chamber (3) to receive a composition B, characterised in that the first chamber (2) and the second chamber (3) are arranged rotatably about the longitudinal axis (5) of the mixing capsule (1), the first chamber (2) comprising a first opening (25), the second chamber (3) comprising a second opening (26), the first opening (25) and the second opening (26) being arranged perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis (5) and plan-parallelly to each other and/or perpendicularly spaced, the first opening (25) and the second opening (26) being arranged incongruently to each other in a storage position (4), the first opening (25) and the second opening (26) being arranged congruently to each other in a handling position (6). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for mixing at least two compositions A and B to a composition C in a mixing capsule and to a use of the mixing capsule.
Polymeric bone foam composition and method
Biomaterials, in particular bone foams, a process for preparing such materials as well as an applicator for applying the biomaterials directly to the patient's application site, and the use of a composition comprising water, a surfactant and a propellant in the preparation of a bone foam for the preparation of a calcium phosphate foam wherein the foam is obtainable by the mixture of at least two phases, a first phase comprising water and optionally a propellant, a second phase comprising one or more sources for calcium and/or phosphate, and wherein the foaming is performed during the mixture of the at least two phases to provide an improved calcium phosphate foam, process for the preparation of a calcium phosphate foam, use of a composition, solid state structure, calcium phosphate cement foam and bone foam applicator.
SYSTEM FOR MIXING BEVERAGES AND METHOD OF DOING THE SAME
A module includes a housing, a sealing feature, a locking feature, and an agitator. The housing has an opening separating inner and outer surfaces and a boss that extends through the housing such that part of the outer surface forms an inner bore of the boss having a terminus pointing toward the opening. The agitator has a base, a shaft, and a mixing element coupled to the base such that the base, in cooperation with the sealing feature, circumferentially seals the opening of the housing to form a cavity defined by the inner surface. The shaft passes through the inner bore. The locking feature when engaged permits independent or simultaneous translational and rotational movement of the shaft while an area between the terminus of the boss and the shaft remains mechanically sealed during the movement against liquid or powder encroachment into a clean area of the inner bore.
Static mixer
A mixer including a first inlet channel, a second inlet channel, a third inlet channel, and a first dividing wall between the first inlet channel and the second inlet channel. A first opening and a second opening are formed in the first dividing wall. The mixer further includes a second dividing wall between the second inlet channel and the third inlet channel with a third opening and a fourth opening formed in the second dividing wall. The first opening is aligned with the third opening along a first axis and the second opening is aligned with the fourth opening along a second axis.
System, device and method for delivery of biomaterials for fracture fixation
The invention relates to a delivery system, device and method for delivering biomaterials for fracture fixation (including augmented fixation), in particular, for delivery of bone cements. The mixing system ensures the biomaterial only commences setting upon extrusion from the mixer, cannula or during injection through an appropriate internal fracture fixation device, allowing for rapid closing by the surgeon. The system also permits the surgeon to cease injecting the cement for an extended period of time before continuing the injection in another area using the same cartridge, through the simple removal of one mixer and attaching another in its place. The invention also provides a method of delivery of biomaterials to a desired implantation site.
DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MIXING
A device or system includes a mixer comprising a three-dimensional lattice defining a plurality of tortuous, interconnecting passages therethrough. The mixer is in communication with sources or streams of at least two separate components which, when mixed, form a combined fluid stream. The sources or streams may be, at least initially, on opposite sides of the mixer, or the sources or streams may be on the upstream side of the mixer with an outlet disposed downstream of the mixer. A related method may include providing a mixer comprising a three-dimensional lattice defining a plurality of tortuous, interconnecting passages therethrough, and selecting a material for the mixer based on physical characteristics of said material, said characteristics including a selected one or more of mean flow pore size, thickness and porosity volume.
APPARATUS AND A METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF A PLAY, CRAFT AND/OR TOY COMPOUND
There is provided an apparatus and a method for producing a play compound and the play compound itself which, in one embodiment is a compound which sufficiently fluid to be pliable and is typically cold and slimy to the touch. The apparatus and a method provide a powder and liquid to a user, which can be a non-skilled person and thereby allow the mixing of the powder and liquid together by that person to form the play compound outside of a factory environment whilst ensuring that the play compound which is formed has the desired characteristics. Most typically the user which performs the mixing can be the end user, such as a child, who will play with the compound and so the formation of the play compound forms a new part of the play experience.
MIX CHAMBER FOR A PLURAL COMPONENT SPRAYER
A mix chamber for a plural component sprayer is configured to receive first and second component materials and emit a spray of a resulting plural component material. The mix chamber includes a chamber body extending between a first end and a second end and including flat lateral sides. A ramp feature is disposed proximate the first end and is configured to contact and push first and second side seals, respectively, away from a body axis as the mix chamber shifts in a first direction through a cartridge bore to increase a gap between the first side seal and the second side seal such that the first side seal engages the first flat lateral side and the second side seal engages the second flat lateral side.
Cartridge, method of manufacturing a cartridge, dispensing assembly and method of assembling a dispensing assembly
A cartridge for a material to be dispensed includes a rigid head part having a dispensing outlet and a flexible film forming a cartridge wall, with the flexible film bounding a cartridge chamber for the material to be dispensed, extending at least partially in a longitudinal direction of the cartridge and having a front end that is connected to the head part. The head part has an outer circumferential surface, and an inner surface of the front end of the flexible film is sealingly and non-releasably connected to the outer circumferential surface of the head part.
