According to one embodiment a solid component mixing apparatus is provided that includes a mixing device, a first dosing device for supplying sand and a second dosing device for supplying a solid additive that are communicated with the mixing device. The mixing device includes a vertical mixing chamber with a rectangular cross-section, the contour of the chamber being formed by four side walls, such that two side walls opposite one another are wider than the other two walls. The chamber includes a first inlet communicated with the first dosing device and a second inlet communicated with the second dosing device, the second inlet being at a lower height than the first inlet, and the second inlet being arranged in one of the wider side walls of the chamber. Associated mixing methods are also provided.

A carbonator reactor includes a cylindrical body, a nozzle for supplying a gas stream, inside the carbonator reactor and above the surface of a liquid phase and where the nozzle is located at the top of the reactor body, an inlet, an outlet, means for regulating the temperature and the pressure, a stirring system and at least one baffle regulating the stirring of the liquid phase and the mass transfer of the gas into the liquid surface, at least one impeller having inclined blades that make an angle from 5° to 60° with respect to the vertical axis. The reactor prepares sodium carbonate and has a configuration for the mass transfer of a gas phase in a liquid phase. A method for the preparation of sodium carbonate by means of the carbonator reactor by capturing CO.sub.2 in an NaOH aqueous solution, directly on the free surface of the liquid phase.

A system and method for introducing a slurry mixture for making gypsum board is disclosed. The system includes, for example, a mixer, a foam injector, and a canister for mixing and moving a slurry mixture of foam and gypsum slurry. Also included in the system is an apparatus having a funnel body constructed and arranged to further mix the slurry mixture. The funnel body includes a number of baffles projecting from its inner wall towards a center and that are spaced around the inner wall. The baffles induce turbulence into the slurry mixture as the slurry mixture moves towards its outlet, thus further mixing the mixture and reducing the flow rate of the slurry mixture before its exits from the outlet for forming the gypsum board.

A system and method for introducing a slurry mixture for making gypsum board is disclosed. An apparatus for agitation of fluids is described that comprises an agitation chamber, an impeller configured to have a motor, a shaft, and blades, and a plurality of baffles. Further, the plurality of baffles have a predetermined shape and configuration. Further, the plurality of baffles are placed on a side wall of the agitation chamber.

A container for liquids has a top, a bottom and a mid-section. A plurality of side panels forming the mid-section, and a plurality of top panels enclose the top of the container. One of the top panels has an openable seal for removing liquid from the container when the seal is broken. A plurality of bottom flaps are provided for closing the bottom of the container, and a baffle is secured inside of the container. The baffle has at least one opening for mixing liquid contained in the container when the container is closed and shaken.

A container assembly with improved mixing dynamics for mixing substances in preparation for injection by an injection device or for the dispersion of additives in the collection and analysis of biological samples is disclosed. In one configuration, the container assembly includes a first mixing element protruding into an interior of a container. With the container rotated about its longitudinal axis, the first mixing element forms at least one vortex which effectuates mixing of a first substance provided within the container interior and a second substance provided within the container interior.

Provided is a washer liquid supply system in a simple structure and capable of improving the capacity of washing an object of a vehicle. A washer liquid supply system includes: a washer tank mounted on a vehicle to store washer liquid; a supply section mounted on the vehicle to supply the washer liquid in the washer tank to a window shield of the vehicle; and a connecting member being a bubbling section mounted on the vehicle to make the washer liquid contain bubbles, wherein the supply section supplies the washer liquid containing the bubbles to the window shield.

An apparatus to prevent formation of a vortex has a ring-shaped gasket having a bottom surface and a top surface; and a blade assembly mounted on the top surface and comprising a center portion and plural blades of a defined height. Each of the blades extend from the center portion to the top surface, with each pair of the plural blades defining a filter based at least in part on spacing between the pair of plural blades.
