CO.SUB.2 .capture using alkaline media for the preparation of sodium carbonate
A carbonator reactor includes a cylindrical body, a nozzle for supplying a gas stream, inside the carbonator reactor and above the surface of a liquid phase and where the nozzle is located at the top of the reactor body, an inlet, an outlet, means for regulating the temperature and the pressure, a stirring system and at least one baffle regulating the stirring of the liquid phase and the mass transfer of the gas into the liquid surface, at least one impeller having inclined blades that make an angle from 5? to 60? with respect to the vertical axis. The reactor prepares sodium carbonate and has a configuration for the mass transfer of a gas phase in a liquid phase. A method for the preparation of sodium carbonate by means of the carbonator reactor by capturing CO.sub.2 in an NaOH aqueous solution, directly on the free surface of the liquid phase.
Disposable bioreactor systems and related methods
A method for enhancing mixing and aeration of a liquid reaction medium in a toroidal bioreactor vessel includes dispensing a liquid reaction medium into an interior of a toroidal bioreactor vessel, the interior being bounded by an inner surface, a textured surface being arranged on at least a portion of the inner surface, the textured surface having a plurality of upstanding protuberances. The toroidal bioreactor vessel is rotated in an orbital motion such that there is a resonant frequency traveling wave of the fluid orbiting in one direction in the interior of the toroidal bioreactor vessel when a particular orbital speed is imparted to the toroidal bioreactor vessel.
Wine decanter, wine glass and movable base
A wine decanter includes a reservoir that holds wine and a neck with an opening to allow wine to enter and exit the reservoir. The reservoir is generally rectangular with opposing front and rear sides and opposing left and right sides, and a substantially flat bottom. Protrusions are located on the reservoir inner surface at one of the front and rear sides or left and right sides. Each protrusion spans an entire length of one of the sides and protrudes into the reservoir thereby aerating the wine as it passes by the protrusions. All protrusions are located above the flat bottom of the reservoir such that none of the protrusions are located on the flat bottom of the reservoir, thereby allowing the wine to pool on the flat bottom of the reservoir. A base is provided that moves the decanter in a controlled back-and-forth motion to aerate the wine.
MULTI-PURPOSE REACTOR AND PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MODIFIED BITUMEN
A reactor is provided for the preparation of modified bitumen, which reactor comprises a horizontal housing comprising a cylindrical wall and two side walls, wherein a bitumen inlet has been provided at or near one of the side walls of the housing and a bitumen product outlet has been provided at or near the opposite side wall of the housing, wherein a plurality of inlets for the provision of oxygen-containing gas has been provided in the cylindrical wall of the housing between the bitumen inlet and the bitumen product outlet, which multi-purpose reactor is further provided with a mixer arranged inside the housing comprising at least one rotor rotating within at least one stator having a plurality of openings. The reactor is used to prepare modified bitumen by contacting bitumen in the reactor with a modified elevated temperature and pressure.
Seed treatment method incorporating an incline mixing conveyor
A seed treatment system incorporates an incline conveyor to mix freshly treated seed. A metered seed flow is maintained. A treatment applicator positioned above a tail end of the incline conveyor applies a seed treatment to the metered seed flow to form a treated seed flow. The treated seed flow freefalls into a transition zone and pre-mixes before moving upward within the incline conveyor. An eddy may form within the treated seed flow due to a partial obstruction within the incline conveyor. A prescribed amount of the treated seed flow backflows into the eddy in a cascading manner. Backflow movement may be contrary to conveyance of a substantial amount of the treated seed up through the incline conveyor. The seed treatment distributes about the treated seed flow within the incline conveyor. The treated seed flow discharges with complete cleanout at a head end of the incline conveyor.
Wine Decanter and Wine Decanting Device
A wine decanter includes a housing and a variation magnetic field generator, where the variation magnetic field generator is configured to generate a variation magnetic field, and the variation magnetic field generator generates the variation magnetic field, so that a movement component that can sense a magnetic field moves in wine to make the wine move, thereby increasing contact between the wine and air. The decanting device includes a wine container, a movement component, and the decanter according to any one of the foregoing, where the movement component is placed inside the wine container, the decanter is connected to the movement component by using a magnetic field, and the decanter generates a variation magnetic field to drive the movement component to perform decanting. The structure of the decanter is simplified, thereby facilitating miniaturization, and making it convenient to carry the decanter, and also reducing noises.
Structured Shake
This disclosure relates to a drink container with lid for the mixing and blending of liquids for consumption, wherein the unique design of the drink container tends to improve the texture and flavor of the liquid blended within it.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR SOLVENT EXTRACTION OF OIL SAND BITUMEN
A process for solvent extraction of bitumen from mined oil sand ore is provided, comprising mixing the mined oil sand ore with at least one solvent to produce a solvent/oil sand slurry; adding water to the solvent/oil sand slurry to produce a slurry having a water-to-solids mass ratio of less than about 0.1; mixing the slurry in a mixing tank having a diameter to agglomerate the solids present in the slurry, the mixing tank operating at a power input of between 20 and 50 W/kg of slurry, to produce an agglomerated slurry; and subjecting the agglomerated slurry to solid-liquid separation to produce a first liquids stream containing bitumen and a first solids stream; whereby the slurry height in the mixing tank is 0.1 to 0.3 of the tank diameter.
LIQUID CONTAINER
In one example, a container includes expandable and contractible air free interior volumes joined by a passage through which liquid may pass from one volume to another volume, an inlet different from the passage through which liquid may enter into one of the volumes, and an outlet different from the passage through which liquid may leave another of the volumes.
Fluid mixing vessel
A portable fluid mixing vessel for containing fluid. The vessel interior includes a mixing component designed for effecting mixing of a fluid with a powdered substance. The spring loaded component is releaseably attached to the bottom of the vessel interior, and is configured to gently break apart clumps of the powder allowing the powder to go into solution without over-mixing. A turbine is attached to the spring portion, the turbine having angled blades to induce a gentle stirring motion in response to vertical reciprocation of the turbine. The gentle breakdown of the powder creates a mixture which has a texture like that of a stirred mixture, as opposed to a pureed or blended mixture.
