DROPLET GENERATOR
An immiscible droplet generation system may include a chip, a microfluidic channel integrated into the chip, an input to the microfluidic channel through which the microfluidic channel is to be filled with a first fluid that is to be moved through the microfluidic channel and a droplet generator. The droplet generator is integrated into the chip to generate a droplet of a second fluid, immiscible within the first fluid, and to inject the droplet into the first fluid in the microfluidic channel.
Bubble generation for aeration and other purposes
Uses of a method of producing small bubbles of gas in a liquid include gas transfer in airlift bioreactors and anaerobic digesters, and particle separation. The method uses a source of the gas under pressure, a conduit opening into a liquid and oscillating the gas passing along the conduit. The oscillation is effected by fluidic oscillator, comprising a diverter that divides the supply into respect outputs, each output being controlled by a control port, wherein the control ports are interconnected by a closed loop. Separation of algae from water involves delivering a laminar flow of microbubbles in the range 10 to 100 m diameter. Such bubbles also deliver a laminar flow in bioreactors that delivers enhanced liquid flow despite the small bubbles, which improves mixing and also enhances efficiency of gas exchange and retention of the bubbles in the reactor.
Carbonation of cement mixes
The invention provides methods and compositions for carbonation of cement mixes using pressurized carbon dioxide delivered to the mix.

Device and Method for Mixing Fluids and for Producing a Fluid Mixture
The invention relates to a device for mixing fluids and for producing a fluid mixture, including, a mixing chamber having a first inlet opening via which a first fluid can be introduced into the mixing chamber, a second inlet opening via which a second fluid can be introduced into the mixing chamber, and an outlet opening via which the fluid mixture including the first fluid and the second fluid can be discharged; a first supply unit, which is fluidically connected to the mixing chamber via the first inlet opening and is designed to carry the first fluid along a first fluid flow direction into the mixing chamber; and a second supply unit, which is fluidically connected to the mixing chamber via the second inlet opening and is designed to carry the second fluid along a second fluid flow direction into the mixing chamber. The first supply unit includes a fluidic component, including an outlet opening, which is fluidically connected to the first inlet opening of the mixing chamber, and at least one means for specifically changing the direction of the first fluid that flows through the fluidic component, in particular in order to cause an oscillation in space of the fluid at the outlet opening.
SIPHON-TYPE AIR DIFFUSION DEVICE, MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR, AND WATER TREATMENT METHOD
A siphon-type air diffusion device for intermittently performing aeration, comprising: at least two siphon-type air diffusion pipes; and an air supply member that supplies air to the siphon-type air diffusion pipes, wherein the siphon-type air diffusion pipe includes a siphon chamber which includes a first siphon chamber and a second siphon chamber on the downstream side of the first siphon chamber, a communication portion which communicates the first siphon chamber and the second siphon chamber with each other, an air diffusion hole which is provided on the downstream side of the siphon chamber, a path which extends from the siphon chamber to the air diffusion hole, and a treatment water inlet which is provided on the upstream side of the siphon chamber, wherein the air supply member includes a distribution pipe which extends in an arrangement direction of the siphon-type air diffusion pipe, and an introduction portion which is branched from the distribution pipe and includes at least one air supply port supplying air to the siphon-type air diffusion pipe, wherein the distribution pipe is provided above the air supply port, and wherein in the air supply port of the introduction portion, the air supply port located at the uppermost position in the vertical direction is provided below a lower end of a partition wall dividing the siphon chamber and the path.
Cartridge structure designed for generation of hydrogen gas
This invention relates to a cartridge structure (100, 200, 300) designed for generation of hydrogen gas by means of generating hydrogen using hydride solutions (sodium hydride, lithium borohydride, potassium borohydride, ammonium borane, etc.) in presence of a catalyzer. The objective of this invention is to provide a cartridge structure (100, 200, 300) designed for generation of hydrogen gas by means of generating hydrogen using continuously fed hydride solutions in presence of a catalyzer.
Apparatus and method for mixing
In a method for mixing two liquid components of a medium with the aid of a static mixer, the two components are supplied to the static mixer, are mixed therein and are subsequently dispensed from the mixer. In this respect, only one respective component is supplied to the mixer, while the other component is not supplied to the mixer.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A READY-TO-USE SOLUTION FROM A CONCENTRATE
A device and related method for producing a ready-to-use solution from a concentrate and a diluent includes an inlet for the diluent; an inlet for the concentrate; an outlet for the solution; a line extending from the inlet for the diluent via a confluence where diluent and concentrate meet, to the outlet; a mixing container arranged in the line between the confluence and the outlet and having a larger cross-section than parts of the line, which are arranged upstream and downstream of the mixing container; and a metering pump for the concentrate, which is connected on the suction side to the inlet for the concentrate and on the pressure side to the confluence and which operates in a pulsed manner. The metering pump works with a clock frequency, in which a plurality of pump surges are attributable to the dwell time of the liquid in the mixing container.
