The nozzle includes a conduit configured to transport the powder, and a conical member mounted to a distal end of the conduit and defining a central hole in fluid communication with the conduit for guiding a first portion of the powder through the central hole. The distal end of the conduit and the conical member together define an annular gap configured to guide a second portion of the powder through the annular gap.

Method for increasing dissolution of solid chemistry blocks

A method and apparatus for obtaining a product chemistry from a solid block is provided. The product is housed within a dispenser, which utilizes a liquid and a gas to erode the block and produce a concentrate solution. The liquid and gas characteristics can be adjusted in the field to achieve a predetermined concentrate level in the solution. The introduction of air into the dispenser saves water, while producing higher concentrate levels.

Systems and methods for generation of emulsions with suitable clarity with applications of use

The inventions cover systems and methods for generation of emulsions having suitable clarity without requiring refractive index matching between emulsion components. Systems can include: a substrate including a set of openings; a reservoir facing the substrate at a first side and containing a sample fluid configured for droplet formation upon interacting with the set of openings of the substrate; and a collecting container facing the substrate at a second side and containing a set of fluid layers configured with a density gradient and suitable immiscibility characteristics. One or more components of the system(s) can support methods for emulsion generation, in relation to enabling interactions between multiple continuous phases and a dispersed droplet phase to generate clear emulsions. Applications of the inventions(s) can include performance of droplet-based digital PCR in an improved manner (e.g., without requiring implementation of correction factors based upon Poisson statistics).

The invention relates to an apparatus for heating and foaming a liquid, in particular a beverage, comprising a steam line (6), which can be connected to a steam generator (1); a pressurized gas line (4), which can be connected to a pressurized gas source (2); and a conveying means (3), connected to the steam line (6) and the pressurized gas line (4), for generating and transferring a steam/gas mixture into the liquid, and a controllable switching valve (5), wherein hot steam is supplied to the conveying means (3) via the steam line (6) and a pressurized gas flow under a defined constant pressure is supplied via the pressurized gas line (4) and pressure pulses (p) are generated from the pressurized gas flow by means of the switching valve (5). In order to damp the generated pressure pulses, the conveying means (3) comprises an expansion chamber (15) having a nozzle (14) arranged on the downstream end of the expansion chamber (15).

EXHAUST HYDROGEN DILUTION DEVICE
20220297072 · 2022-09-22 ·

An exhaust hydrogen dilution device includes a purge receiving chamber to store hydrogen purged from a fuel cell of a fuel cell system and an air passage chamber adjoining the purge receiving chamber. Diluter gas flows through the air passage chamber. An interface member between the chambers comprises an interface member having first and second vents respectively on an upstream side and a downstream side. A pressure loss at the first vent is greater than or equal to a pressure loss at the second vent. Some of the diluter gas flows into the purge receiving chamber through the first vent and is mixed with the hydrogen into a mixed gas that flows toward the second vent. The pressure losses are adjusted such that a ratio of the hydrogen flowing into the air passage chamber to a total amount of gases flowing through the air passage chamber is 4% or lower.
