Medicament Preparation Devices, Methods, and Systems
A system for mixing a batch of medicament has a pump actuator, control valve actuators, a source of concentrate, and a purified water source, all connected by a fluid circuit. A controller controls various control valves to open fluid channels from the source of concentrate and from the purified water source to connect a junction of the fluid circuit to the concentrate container and the purified water source. The controller also controls the pump actuator and a water pump to flow water and concentrate through the junction into a mixing container, such that the mixture of the concentrate and the water requires additional dilution to form a ready-to-use medicament. The controller samples the mixture and calculate an additional quantity of water to add based on the sampling.
Containment System for Mixing Dry Powders with Solvents During Drug Production or Processing
A solids charging containment apparatus and method for mixing a solvent with a dry powder, comprising a dual compartment isolator for safely removing the dry powder from a dry powder container, a mixing vessel, and a negative cascading pressure controller. The dual compartment isolator comprises a staging compartment, a charging compartment and a raw material entry port, which is connected to the staging compartment and configured to isolate the dry powder container from the surrounding atmosphere. The mixing vessel includes a mixing chamber and a solids charging port fluidly connecting the mixing chamber to a containment valve in the charging compartment of the dual compartment isolator. The negative cascading pressure controller generates negative pressure in both the staging compartment and the charging compartment. The containment apparatus and method may be used to produce a slurry or solution mixture of solvent and dry powder during drug processing.
Portable custom cosmetic pigment dispenser
A portable custom cosmetic pigment dispenser creates a cosmetic pigment mixture that closely matches a person's skin color. The device is constructed with an RGB sensor at one end that scans the skin and records it in the RGB color space. A processor converts the RGB information into a CYMK+W color space. In an embodiment, a user is presented with a sample of the color as determined by the processor, and has an opportunity to accept or modify the color. Specific quantities of colored pigment are selected based on the corresponding weightings in the CYMK+W space.
Valve current error detection for fluid mixture dispensing device
Ingredient dispensing systems and methods are disclosed. A disclosed system includes an ingredient reservoir and an electromechanical valve configured so that, when the electromechanical valve is activated, an ingredient is dispensed from the ingredient reservoir. The disclosed system also includes a current sensor configured to measure a current draw of the electromechanical valve. The disclosed system also includes a controller programmed to sample the current draw from the current sensor and to detect a dispense error of the electromechanical valve based on the sampled current draw.
Systems and methods for dispensing fluid mixtures
In some embodiments of a fluid dispensing system: (1) two or more mixing channels are fluidly connected to (a) a mixing chamber fluidly connected to a dispenser, (b) a particular two or more solvent reservoirs, and (c) a respective one or more ingredient reservoirs, wherein each of the ingredient reservoirs is configured to dispense into a respective one of the mixing channels; and (2) a controller is programmed to receive a request for a fluid mixture, and, in response control the system to: mix, in the mixing channels to form an intermediate fluid mixture, a respective predetermined amount of solvent from each of the particular solvent reservoirs and a respective predetermined amount of the ingredients from some of the ingredient reservoirs; flow, to the mixing chamber and then to the dispenser, the intermediate fluid mixture; and dispense the requested fluid mixture (including the intermediate fluid mixture) via the dispenser.
MULTI ADDITIVE CHANNEL HEAD
A device for automatically and selectively dispensing multiple additives into a base liquid is disclosed, where each additive is dispensed by a control mechanism that effectively shuts off and is self-cleaning. In one embodiment, each additive is provided through a channel comprising a tube, a check disk, and a fulcrum. When the pressure of a particular additive increases above a threshold, a flexure is created in the check disk, which causes an opening that allows the additive to enter a main channel where it is mixed with a base liquid. When the pressure of the liquid additive is decreased below the threshold, the check disk reverts to its original form and the additive is no longer dispensed into the base liquid. Thereafter, the base liquid cleanses the mechanism.
