The mounting unit is operable to position the stirrer with respect to the mixing chamber such that the stirrer is in contact with a slurry in the mixing chamber during the mixing operation.

A device and/or method stores, mixes, and applies polymethylmethacrylate bone cement, wherein the device and/or method comprising a first container for a first pasty component, a dispensing plunger that is arranged such that it can be shifted in the first container and serves for extruding the content of the first container through a dispensing tube opposite from the dispensing plunger. The dispensing tube can be rotated and shifted in longitudinal direction through a feed-through in a side of the first container opposite from the dispensing plunger. A mixing facility is arranged in the first container, is secured to the dispensing tube, and is movable in the first container by moving the dispensing tube. At least one second container for at least one second component is arranged on the first container, whereby the internal space of the at least one second container is closed with respect to the internal space of the first container by means of a closure, which is openable. The at least one second container is limited, on the side opposite from the closure, by a dosing plunger, and whereby at least one limiting surface of the first container is formed by a mobile volume compensation element.

Vacuum mixing systems and methods mix of polymethylmethacrylate bone cement, the systems and methods comprise at least one cartridge having an evacuable internal space, a pump with a plunger that can be moved by hand to generate a low pressure, and a connecting conduit connecting the internal space of the at least one cartridge to the pump. The pump comprises an operating element that can be operated from outside and is connected appropriately to the plunger such that it is suitable for moving the plunger in the pump by hand such that a low pressure can be generated such that the low pressure of the pump can be used to evacuate gas from the internal space of the at least one cartridge through the connecting conduit.

Methods for the production of foamed sclerosant compositions are provided. Containers include a container body including one or more sidewalls extending between a top and a bottom of the container body and a bottom surface, a foaming space being defined in an interior of the container body. The foaming space contains a sterile gas and a mixing element configured to be operatively coupled with a rotatable actuator without the actuator entering into the foaming space. The container includes a female coupling member for mating with a syringe, and a pressure equalizer for equalizing a pressure inside the foaming space with a pressure outside the foaming space. Systems and kits including such containers are also provided. Also disclosed are methods for the preparation of a sclerosant foam which may include a pressure release before extraction of the foam and/or a continued rotation of the actuator while the foam is being extracted.

A syringe barrel is coupled to the mixing section and has an opening through which the bone filler can be dispensed. A controllable portal can be manipulated to open a flow path between the mixing section and the syringe barrel. A plunger assembly is adapted to extend telescopically in an axial direction through the syringe barrel to dispense the bone filler through the opening.
