Compressed air foam mixing apparatus

This application with regard to an apparatus of mixing a compressed air foam is disclosed. The disclosed application includes a first mixing unit that receives fire water and an undiluted foam solution, and adjusts an inflow of the undiluted foam solution so that a supply amount of the undiluted foam solution is adjusted in proportion to a supply amount of the fire water, and mixes the received fire water and undiluted foam solution to produce a foam aqueous solution; and a second mixing unit that mixes a compressed gas with a foam aqueous solution produced in the first mixing unit to produce a compressed air foam.

Beverage dispensing system and method

A beverage dispensing system is disclosed that includes a container assembly configured to store two liquids (e.g., liquor and a mixer) that is couplable to a head assembly. The head assembly includes one or more pumps configured to draw the different liquids from the assembly, to mix variable ratios of the two liquids together, and to dispense the drink. In some configurations, the drink may be dispensed from the beverage dispenser into a glass or directly to the mouth of an individual.

Method and device for generating injectable foam

The present invention relates to methods and devices for production of injectable foams, such as those used in the treatment of varicose veins and other venous disorders. The method requires the delivery or supply of foamable liquid sclerosing agent and a suitable gas or a gas mixture to a foam producing structure in which the liquid and gas are combined to produce foam, wherein the liquid is delivered independently of the delivery of gas. Devices for producing injectable foam comprise a foam producing structure in which liquid and gas are combined to produce foam, the structure comprising an inlet for liquid and gas and an outlet for foam; a liquid pathway in communication with the inlet; and a gas pathway in communication with the inlet, characterised in that the liquid pathway comprises a means for delivering liquid through the liquid pathway independently of gas delivery through the gas pathway. In preferred embodiments, the delivery of liquid and/or gas is controlled with volumetric pumps.

Microfluidic device for fluid mixture

Examples include microfluidic devices. Example microfluidic devices include a first microfluidic channel, a second microfluidic channel, and a third microfluidic channel fluidly coupled to the first microfluidic channel and the second microfluidic channel via a fluid junction. A fluid actuator is disposed in the third microfluidic channel to actuate to thereby pump a first fluid and a second fluid into the third microfluidic channel.

A system for mixing a batch of medicament has a pump actuator, control valve actuators, a source of concentrate, and a purified water source, all connected by a fluid circuit. A controller controls various control valves to open fluid channels from the source of concentrate and from the purified water source to connect a junction of the fluid circuit to the concentrate container and the purified water source. The controller also controls the pump actuator and a water pump to flow water and concentrate through the junction into a mixing container, such that the mixture of the concentrate and the water requires additional dilution to form a ready-to-use medicament. The controller samples the mixture and calculate an additional quantity of water to add based on the sampling.

Point-of-use dynamic concentration delivery system with high flow and high uniformity

A method and a system are described for mixing liquid chemicals at dynamically changing or static ratios during a given dispense, with extremely high uniformity and repeatability. A mixer includes multiple fluid supply lines including elongate bladders defining a linear flow path and being configured to laterally expand to collect a process fluid and laterally contract to deliver a selected volume of the process fluid to the mixer.

DILUTION ON MICROFLUIDIC EJECTOR CHIPS

A system and a method for on-chip dilution of a calibration solution are provided. An exemplary system includes a microfluidic ejector chip. The microfluidic ejector chip includes a calibration reservoir to contain a calibration standard and a dilution reservoir to contain a dilution solvent. A first fluid control device couples the calibration reservoir to a mixing chamber, and a second fluid control device couples a dilution reservoir to the mixing chamber. The mixing chamber is fluidically coupled to a microfluidic ejector.

Method and system for on-line blending of foaming agent with foam modifier for addition to cementitious slurries

Disclosed is a method and system for blending a foam modifier with foaming agent on-line, e.g., as may be particularly useful for gypsum or cement slurries. The foam modifier comprises a fatty alcohol that is added to a gypsum or cement slurry that includes foaming agent, such as an alkyl sulfate surfactant. The fatty alcohol can be a C.sub.6-C.sub.16 fatty alcohol in some embodiments. The use of such a foam modifier can be used, for example, to stabilize the foam, reduce waste of foaming agent, improve void size control in the final product, and improve the gypsum board manufacturing process.
