Swing ride attraction with control means for controlling the swing
20200330884 · 2020-10-22 ·

The invention relates to an attraction (1) for amusement rides, such as a fairground attraction or an amusement park attraction, comprising a mast (10), a base frame (13), which is rotatably attached to the mast and which extends radially from the mast, means for rotating the base frame, a plurality of subframes (20), each comprising a stiff connecting arm to which a gondola with one or more passenger seats is attached. The subframes (20) are circumferentially distributed, each pivotably suspended by means of the connecting arm on the base frame (13), such that the subframes with gondolas swing upon rotation of the base frame under the influence of the centrifugal force. The attraction is further provided with control means for controlling the swing of the subframes with gondolas relative to the base frame, which control means are arranged to move the center of gravity of the subframe (20) relative to the base frame (13).

Carousel ride systems

A carousel ride system includes a first rotatable platform and multiple second rotatable platforms. Each second rotatable platform of the multiple second rotatable platforms is positioned within a respective opening in the first rotatable platform. A first drive system is configured to drive rotation of the first rotatable platform and multiple second drive assemblies are configured to drive rotation of the multiple second rotatable platforms. Multiple figures extend over the multiple second rotatable platforms and multiple figure drive assemblies are configured to independently lift and rotate the multiple figures relative to the multiple second rotatable platforms. One or more processors are configured to coordinate operation of the first drive system, the multiple second drive assemblies, and the multiple figure drive assemblies to maintain the multiple figures in a forward-facing orientation relative to a direction of travel of the first rotatable platform during operation of the carousel ride system.

An inverted Stewart platform assembly includes a first platform having a first surface, a second platform having a second surface facing the first surface of the first platform, and six legs extending between and coupling the first platform and the second platform. The six legs are configured to be actuated between a first arrangement in which adjustable lengths of the six legs, measured from the first platform to the second platform, are substantially equal to one another, and a plurality of second arrangements in which the adjustable lengths of the six legs are not substantially equal to one another, wherein each leg of the six legs forms, in the first arrangement, an angle of less than or equal to 45 degrees with a plane defined by the first platform.

An amusement device attached to a flat bed surface of a flatbed truck. A subfloor is hingedly attached to one end of the flat bed. A mechanical assembly such as a telescoping hydraulic rod can be extended or retracted by an operator to change the angle of the subfloor. A plurality of flat panels unfold to form a circularly shaped main floor. The floor includes a central shaft that can be activated to cause the floor to rotate. People holding carriages are round in plan view and have castor support wheels cause the carriage to slide around on the circular shaped floor as the floor both rotates and is tilted at an angle. The centrifugal force of the rotation causes the carriages to be flung outwards where the are retained by a scalloped perimeter wall attached to the circular floor.
