Incorporation of chitosan in microcapsule wall
The microcapsules and process of making describe a novel core shell microcapsule. The microcapsule incorporates a polysaccharide such as chitosan into the microcapsule wall forming the shell. The microcapsule shell is formed by dissolving chitosan into a material of structure ##STR00001##
wherein each R is independently selected from hydrogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.8 alkyl, or a cyano group; and each y is independently an integer from 1 to 8, and reacting with a multifunctional (meth)acrylate.
Environmentally biodegradable microcapsules
Disclosed is a composition including controlled release particles, wherein each of the controlled release particles includes: (a) a core including at least one hydrophobic active ingredient; and (b) a wall at least partially surrounding the core and including the reaction products of: (i) an organofunctional silane; (ii) an epoxy; (iii) an amine; (iv) an isocyanate; (v) an epoxide curing agent; wherein the controlled release particles are effective to retain the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient upon exposure to water and effective to release the at least one hydrophobic active ingredient in response to friction. LIQUID ENCAPSULATION METHOD AND COMPOSITIONS AND USES RELATED THERETO
Present disclosure provides a method of forming a liquid-encapsulated core material, encapsulated core material compositions, and uses thereof, where the encapsulated core material is formed by providing an interfacial fluid layered on a host fluid, and passing a core material through the interfacial fluid and into the host fluid such that the interfacial fluid forms a shell around the core material. By so encapsulating the core material, it is protected from the host fluid.
HOLLOW FINE PARTICLE PRODUCTION METHOD AND HOLLOW FINE PARTICLES
A method for producing hollow fine particles containing a fluorine-containing resin and having a large average particle size. The method includes a step A of providing hollow fine particles by dispersing a solution containing a fluorine-containing monomer, an oil-soluble initiator, and a non-polymerizable solvent in water containing a fluorine-containing surfactant and thereby polymerizing the fluorine-containing monomer. Also disclosed are hollow fine particles including a fluorine-containing resin and having an average particle size of 70 nm or greater and 10 μm or smaller. The hollow fine particles each have a porosity of 5% by volume or higher, and the fluorine-containing resin contains a polymerized unit based on a fluorine-containing monomer and a polymerized unit based on a crosslinkable monomer.
METHOD FOR PREPARING A MAGNETIC CHAIN STRUCTURE
A method for preparing a magnetic chain structure is provided. The method comprises providing a plurality of magnetic particles; dispersing the plurality of magnetic particles in a solution comprising a dopamine-based material to form a reaction mixture; applying a magnetic field across the reaction mixture to align the magnetic particles in the reaction mixture; and polymerizing the dopamine-based material on the aligned magnetic particles to obtain the magnetic chain structure. A magnetic chain structure prepared by the method is also provided.
