Reactor For Continuously Treating Polymeric Material
A system for continuously treating recycled polymeric material includes a hopper configured to feed the recycled polymeric material into the system. An extruder can turn the recycled polymeric material in a molten material. In some embodiments, the extruder uses thermal fluids, electric heaters, and/or a separate heater. The molten material is depolymerized in a reactor. In some embodiments, a catalyst is used to aid in depolymerizing the material. In certain embodiments, the catalyst is contained in a permeable container. The depolymerized molten material can then be cooled via a heat exchanger. In some embodiments, multiple reactors are used. In certain embodiments, these reactors are connected in series. In some embodiments, the reactor(s) contain removable static mixer(s) and/or removable annular inserts.
Cooling between multiple polyolefin polymerization reactors
A system and method for a first reactor to produce a transfer slurry having a first polyolefin polymerized in the first reactor, a heat-removal zone to remove heat from the transfer slurry, and a second reactor to receive the transfer slurry cooled by the heat-removal zone, the second reactor to produce a product slurry having a product polyolefin which includes the first polyolefin and a second polyolefin polymerized in the second reactor.

Design of an Ethylene Oligomerization/Trimerization/Tetramerization Reactor
A process includes periodically or continuously introducing an olefin monomer and periodically or continuously introducing a catalyst system or catalyst system components into a reaction mixture within a reaction system, oligomerizing the olefin monomer within the reaction mixture to form an oligomer product, and periodically or continuously discharging a reaction system effluent comprising the oligomer product from the reaction system. The reaction system includes a total reaction mixture volume and a heat exchanged portion of the reaction system comprising a heat exchanged reaction mixture volume and a total heat exchanged surface area providing indirect contact between the reaction mixture and a heat exchange medium. A ratio of the total heat exchanged surface area to the total reaction mixture volume within the reaction system is in a range from 0.75 in.sup.1 to 5 in.sup.1, and an oligomer product discharge rate from the reaction system is between 1.0 (lb)(hr.sup.1)(gal.sup.1) to 6.0 (lb)(hr.sup.1)(gal.sup.1).

This disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for the delivery of a multi-component olefin polymerization catalyst to a polymerization reactor. The apparatus includes: a first catalyst component delivery conduit; a second catalyst component delivery conduit which is disposed within the first catalyst component delivery conduit; a first catalyst component mixing conduit; a third catalyst component delivery conduit which is disposed within the first catalyst component mixing conduit; a second catalyst component mixing conduit comprising an upstream section and a downstream section, the downstream section terminating within the polymerization reactor; and a diluent delivery conduit; the first and second catalyst component delivery conduits each being open-ended and co-terminating at the first catalyst component mixing conduit; the first catalyst component mixing conduit and the third catalyst component delivery conduit each being open-ended and co-terminating at the upstream section of the second catalyst component mixing conduit; and the diluent delivery conduit terminating at the downstream section of the second catalyst component mixing conduit.

The experimental device includes a reactor system, a feeding system, a separation and measurement system, a water-bath jacket system, a support and safety system, and a software recording and analyzing system. In the reactor system, the reactor units can be combined in different ways depending on the experimental conditions and purposes. The reactor units include: left/right reactor units, secondary reactor units, central reactor units, and caps. The combination of a left/right reactor unit with a cap gives a hydrate formation reactor without sand control screens. Combining the left/right reactor unit, secondary left/right reactor units and central reactor units with other accessories allows the reactor system to carry out the simulation experiments with either zero, one, or two view zones, and with either one or two wells.
