METHOD OF MANUFACTURING BIO-DIESEL AND REACTOR
A reactor and process for the production of bio-diesel. The reactor includes one or more coiled reaction lines. The lines are positioned within a tank containing a heat transfer media such as molten salt, maintained at about 750° F. A pump circulates the media within the tank. An emulsion of alcohol; refined feed stock, including glycerides and/or fatty acids; and preferably water is pumped through the reaction lines at temperatures and pressures sufficient to maintain the alcohol in a super-critical state. The curvature of the coils, pump pulsing, and the flow rate of the emulsion keep the emulsion in a turbulent state while in the reactor, ensuring thorough mixing of the alcohol and feed stock. The alcohol reacts with the glycerides and fatty acids to form bio-diesel. The reaction is fast, efficient with regard to energy input and waste generation, and requires minimal alcohol.
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ALKOXYLATES
A process for producing alkoxylates features a high growth ratio without the need of interim storage of a pre-polymer produced in a first reactor. The process may involve reacting a monomeric educt in the presence of a catalyst and a starting material in a first reactor equipped with a first circulation loop and thereafter passing a pre-polymer that is produced of the first circulation loop to a second reactor equipped with a second circulation loop, where a desired polymer is produced. The first reactor may comprise a smaller volume than the second reactor. The growth ratio, defined as a final batch volume of the second reactor divided by a minimum initial volume of the starting material in the first reactor, is at least 80:1.
DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUSLY PREPARING 2,6-DIHYDROXYBENZALDEHYDE
The present disclosure provides a device for continuously preparing 2,6-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and use thereof. The device includes a first continuous reaction unit for hydroxy protection reaction, a second continuous reaction unit for lithiation and hydroformylation, and a third continuous reaction unit for deprotection reaction that are connected in series. The third continuous reaction unit includes: a first columnar continuous reactor, connected to the second continuous reaction unit and used for deprotection of the lithiated hydroformylated product while performing liquid separation to obtain an organic phase containing 2,6-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and an aqueous phase. When the device is applied in the preparation of 2,6-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, reaction time is shortened and the intermediate purification treatment is no longer required. Therefore, compared with batch process, the present disclosure can greatly save equipment cost and post-processing cost, and greatly improve the production efficiency, more beneficial to the industrial scale-up production of 2,6-dihydroxybenzaldehyde.
MULTI-TUBULAR CHEMICAL REACTOR WITH IGNITER FOR INITIATION OF GAS PHASE EXOTHERMIC REACTIONS
A multi-tubular chemical reactor includes an igniter for the initiation of gas phase exothermic reaction within the gas phase reaction zones of the tubular reactor units. In accordance with the present disclosure, there is provided a multi-tubular chemical reactor comprising a plurality of spaced-apart reactor units, each reactor unit comprising an elongate tube having a wall with internal and external surfaces, an inlet at one end and an outlet at the opposing end, the wall enclosing a gaseous flow passageway at least a portion of which defines a gas phase reaction zone, the multi-tubular chemical reactor can include at least one igniter for initiation of at least one gas phase exothermic reaction within a gas phase reaction zone of a reactor unit.
Fluoroethane production method and fluoroolefin production method
The production method according to the present disclosure comprises obtaining a product comprising a fluoroethane from a fluoroethylene by a reaction in the presence of at least one catalyst. The reaction is performed in two or more reaction zones. Each reaction zone comprises a catalyst, and the fluoroethylene is supplied to each reaction zone to perform the reaction.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DESULFURIZATION OF HYDROCARBON FUELS
A reaction column comprises a plurality of cells each of which has a lower cell portion and an upper cell portion. The cells are arranged sequentially, from an uppermost cell to a lowermost cell. The fuel inlet is configured to direct fluid through the reaction column from a lower cell portion of the lowermost cell to an upper cell portion of the uppermost cell, and out of the fuel outlet. The reagent inlet is configured to direct reagent through the reaction column from the upper cell portion of the uppermost cell to the lower cell portion of the lowermost cell. The plurality of cells may be vertically or horizontally positioned, as well as inclined and the like. Systems and methods are likewise disclosed.
PEPTIDE SYNTHESIS INSTRUMENTATION
A peptide synthesis instrument can be used for small scale peptide synthesis. The instrument can include several unique features, including a compression style reaction vessel permitting quick setup of the reaction vessel, a double reaction vessel system permitting efficient mixing without loss of solvent or solvent-to-resin contact, gravity-fed heated reservoirs establishing a fixed volume for delivery to the reaction vessel, fume-free solvent addition permitting solvent addition to fixed bottles, and an improved amino acid manifold assembly which reduces the number of components and increases the ease of use of the instrument. Each of these features improve upon the current state of the art in solid phase automated peptide synthesizers.

A process for the preparation of ethylene homopolymers or copolymers in a facility having a high-pressure tubular reactor and a preheater, wherein a reaction fluid introduced into the reactor at a reactor inlet is heated in the preheater and the average velocity of the reaction fluid in the preheater is lower than the average velocity of the reaction fluid in the tubular reactor and the ratio of the average velocity in the tubular reactor to the average velocity of the reaction fluid in the preheater is in the range from 1.5 to 5.
Reactor For Continuously Treating Polymeric Material
A system for continuously treating recycled polymeric material includes a hopper configured to feed the recycled polymeric material into the system. An extruder can turn the recycled polymeric material in a molten material. In some embodiments, the extruder uses thermal fluids, electric heaters, and/or a separate heater. The molten material is depolymerized in a reactor. In some embodiments, a catalyst is used to aid in depolymerizing the material. In certain embodiments, the catalyst is contained in a permeable container. The depolymerized molten material can then be cooled via a heat exchanger. In some embodiments, multiple reactors are used. In certain embodiments, these reactors are connected in series. In some embodiments, the reactor(s) contain removable static mixer(s) and/or removable annular inserts.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING A CHEMICAL REACTION UNDER ELEVATED PRESSURE
The invention relates to a method of performing a chemical reaction under elevated pressure. It is suggested that the method comprises the steps of pressurizing a first vessel (3) and a second vessel (5) with reactant-containing liquid and gas to a predetermined pressure, providing reaction conditions in one of the vessels (3, 5) such that the chemical reaction is effected and a product-containing liquid is obtained, withdrawing liquid from the respective vessel (3, 5) as reaction product when a predetermined amount of reaction product has formed, preferably after the chemical reaction in the respective vessel (3, 5) has concluded, and synchronously supplying reactant-containing liquid to the respective other vessel (3, 5), wherein the first and second vessels (3, 5) are in fluid communication by way of a gas communication passage (27). The invention also relates to an apparatus and use thereof for performing said chemical reaction.
