Methods for Determining Transition Metal Compound Concentrations in Multicomponent Liquid Systems
Methods for simultaneously determining the concentrations of transition metal compounds in solutions containing two or more transition metal compounds are described. Polymerization reactor systems providing real-time monitoring and control of the concentrations of the transition metal components of a multicomponent catalyst system are disclosed, as well as methods for operating such polymerization reactor systems, and for improving methods of preparing the multicomponent catalyst system.
Hydrodearylation Reactor

PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR QUANTITATIVE MONITORING OF THE COMPOSITION OF AN OLIGOMER/MONOMER MIXTURE
The present invention relates to a process for quantitative monitoring of the composition of an oligomer/monomer mixture containing a plurality of mixture components. The process according to the invention is characterized in that the quantitative composition of the oligomer/monomer mixture is measured by means of an NIR spectroscopy measuring unit (7) under the application of a chemometric method, wherein the liquid pressure in the quantitatively monitored oligomer/monomer mixture p.sub.L>3 bar. Further, the invention relates to an apparatus for quantitative monitoring of the composition of an oligomer/monomer mixture containing a plurality of mixture components, and an installation (100) for producing a polymer product.
Process for producing 1,1,2-trichloroethane
The present disclosure relates to a process for producing 1,1,2-trichloroethane. According to the present disclosure, a process for producing 1,1,2-trichloroethane with a simplified equipment and a high reaction yield is provided.
External loop slurry reactor
The present invention discloses an external loop slurry reactor, comprising a gas-liquid integrated distributor, a riser, a degassing zone, a solid-liquid separation circulation unit, and a storage tank. When the reactor works, reactants are injected into the riser through the gas-liquid integrated distributor; the slurry mixes and flows upwards to the degassing zone at the top for gas removal, and a large number of bubbles are removed. The slurry with catalyst particles then enters a downcomer and flows downwards. The slurry flows into a first-stage hydrocyclone and a multi-stage hydrocyclone in sequence for solid-liquid separation. The diameter of the first-stage hydrocyclone is larger than that of the multi-stage hydrocyclone. The separated solid particles flow back into the riser to continue to participate in the reaction.

Design and Scheduling of Semi-Batch Chemical-Looping Reactors
Systems/methods for continuous operation of fixed bed reactors using gaseous fuels for the purpose of power generation through integration with a combined cycle power plant are provided. The fixed bed reactors are assumed to operate in a semi-batch mode composed of reactor modules that are integrated into module trains that comprise the chemical-looping combustion island of the power plant. The scheduling of each reactor train is cast as an optimization problem that maximizes thermodynamic efficiency subject to constraints imposed to each reactor and the entire island. When the chemical-looping reactors are arranged cyclically, each feeding to or being fed from another reactor, in an operating scheme that mimics simulated moving bed reactors, the thermodynamic efficiency of the reactor island can be improved. Allowing the reversal of module order in the cyclically arranged reactor modules further improves the overall thermodynamic efficiency (to 84.7%), while satisfying constraints imposed for carbon capture, fuel conversion, power plant safety and oxygen carrier stability.
Systems and methods for polyethylene recovery with low volatile content
The present invention discloses methods for removing volatile components from an ethylene polymer effluent stream from a polymerization reactor, and related polyethylene recovery and volatile removal systems. In these methods and systems, the polymer solids temperature is increased significantly prior to introduction of the polymer solids into a purge column for the final stripping of volatile components from the polymer solids.
SOLUTION POLYMERIZATION PROCESS
Disclosed herein is a system for solution polymerization comprising a reactor system that is operative to receive an anti-solvent, a monomer, and a solvent, and to react the monomer to form a polymer; where the anti-solvent is not a solvent for the polymer and is operative to reduce the lower critical solution temperature; a plurality of devolatilization vessels located downstream of the reactor system, where each devolatilization vessel operates at a lower pressure than the preceding devolatilization vessel and wherein the plurality of devolatilization vessels receives a polymer solution from the reactor system; and a liquid-liquid separator that is operative to receive a polymer solution from the reactor system and to facilitate a separation between the polymer and volatiles by reducing the pressure and temperature of the polymer solution in the liquid-liquid separator.
Polymer flake degassing system and methods
Systems and methods for improved degassing of polymer flake are provided herein. These systems include a polymerization reactor configured to polymerize one or more olefin monomers and produce a product stream comprising solid polymer flake entrained in a fluid; a flash chamber configured to separate the solid polymer flake from the fluid and to produce a fluid stream and a concentrated stream; and a first degassing chamber configured to separate the concentrated stream by contacting the concentrated stream with a purge fluid comprising one or more light hydrocarbons to produce a partially degassed polymer flake stream and a purge fluid stream.
