FILTER MEDIUM AND BAG FILTER
Disclosed herein are a filter medium and a bag filter for exhaust gas removal in which dropping off and scattering of a catalyst is suppressed during production and during use. Provided is a filter medium containing a fiber layer and a catalyst layer, the catalyst layer containing a catalyst and fibril fibers as main components. Also provided herein is a bag filter comprising the said filter medium, wherein the filter medium is cylindrical.
Combustion system for ships
A combustion system for ships operated at low cost is provided. A combustion system 1 for ships includes an internal combustion engine 20 that burns fuel, an exhaust line L2 through which exhaust gas flows, the exhaust gas being generated through combustion of the fuel in the internal combustion engine 20, an exhaust heat recovery device 40 that is disposed in the exhaust line L2 and that recovers exhaust heat from the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine 20, and a denitration device 50 that is disposed in the exhaust line L2 and that removes nitrogen oxide from the exhaust gas using a denitration catalyst. The denitration device 50 is disposed downstream from the exhaust heat recovery device 40 in the exhaust line L2. The denitration catalyst contains 43 wt % or more of vanadium pentoxide and has a BET specific surface area of 30 m.sup.2/g or more.

METHOD FOR PREVENTING A SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION (SCR) CATALYST FROM BEING CONTAMINATED WITH PLATINUM
The present invention relates to a method for preventing an SCR catalyst from being contaminated with platinum group metal in an emission control system comprising, upstream of the SCR catalyst, a catalyst that contains platinum group metal, characterized in that a material zone containing a mixture of aluminum oxide and cerium oxide is located upstream of the SCR catalyst.
SHAPED POROUS CARBON PRODUCTS
Shaped porous carbon products and processes for preparing these products are provided. The shaped porous carbon products can be used, for example, as catalyst supports and adsorbents. Catalyst compositions including these shaped porous carbon products, processes of preparing the catalyst compositions, and various processes of using the shaped porous carbon products and catalyst compositions are also provided.
Method for producing 1-octanol
The present invention relates to a method for producing 1-octanol comprising a contact step between ethanol, n-hexanol and two catalysts A and B, wherein catalyst A comprises a metal oxide comprising Ga and a noble metal and catalyst B comprises a metal oxide comprising Cu, Ni or any mixture thereof.
Complex comprising ODH unit with integrated oxygen separation module
Oxidative dehydrogenation is an alternative to the energy extensive steam cracking process presently used for the production of olefins from paraffins, but has not been implemented commercially partially due to the unstable nature of hydrocarbon/oxygen mixtures, and partially due to the cost involved in the construction of new facilities. An oxidative dehydrogenation chemical complex designed to reduce costs by including integration of an oxygen separation module that also addresses safety concerns and reduces emission of greenhouse gases is described.
CATALYST FOR PREPARING 1,5-PENTANEDIOL VIA HYDROGENOLYSIS OF TETRAHYDROFURFURYL ALCOHOL, METHOD AND APPLICATION THEREOF
The present invention provides a method for preparing 1,5-pentanediol via hydrogenolysis of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol. The catalyst used in the method is prepared by supporting a noble metal and a promoter on an organic polymer supporter or an inorganic hybrid material supporter, wherein the supporter is functionalized by a nitrogen-containing ligand. When the catalyst is used in the hydrogenolysis of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol to prepare 1,5-pentanediol, a good reaction activity and a high selectivity can be achieved. The promoter and the nitrogen-containing ligand in the supporter are bound to the catalyst through coordination, thereby the loss of the promoter is significantly decreased, and the catalyst has a particularly high stability. The lifetime investigation of the catalyst, which has been reused many times or used continuously for a long term, suggests that the catalyst has no obvious change in performance, thus reducing the overall process production cost.
