SELECTIVE HYDROGENATION CATALYST COMPRISING A PARTICULAR DISTRIBUTION OF NICKEL AND MOYBDENUM

A selective hydrogenation catalyst contains an active phase having a group VIB metal and a group VIII metal, and a porous support containing alumina. The group VIB metal content is between 1 and 18% by weight relative to total weight of the catalyst, and the group VIII metal content of the active phase, measured in oxide form, is between 1 and 20% by weight relative to total weight of the catalyst. The molar ratio between the group VIII metal and the group VIB metal is between 1.0 and 3.0 mol/mol. The group VIII metal is homogeneously distributed in the porous support with a distribution coefficient R of between 0.8 and 1.2, measured using a Castaing microprobe, and the group VIB metal is distributed at the periphery of the porous support with a distribution coefficient R of less than 0.8.

HEAT GENERATING CATALYST FOR HYDROCARBONS CRACKING

A method of making a heat generating catalyst for hydrocarbon cracking. The method includes providing at least one mordenite framework-inverted (MFI) zeolite having a Si/Al molar ratio of 15 or greater and providing at least one metal oxide precursor. Further, the at least one metal oxide precursor is dispersed within a microstructure of the MFI zeolite catalyst. The method additionally includes calcining the heat generating material with the at least one metal oxide precursor dispersed within the microstructure of the MFI zeolite catalyst to form at least one metal oxide in situ. The heat generating catalyst includes at least one MFI zeolite and at least one metal oxide in a ratio between 50:50 and 95:5. Additionally, an associated method of using the heat generating catalyst in a hydrocarbon cracking process is provided.

Catalysts and method of preparing the catalysts are disclosed. One of the catalysts includes a zeolite support, a Group VIII metal on the zeolite support, and at least two halides bound to the zeolite support, to the Group VIII metal, or to both, and can have an average crush strength greater than 11.25 lb based on at least two samples of pellets of the catalyst measured in accordance with ASTM D4179.

Methods for making a supported chromium catalyst are disclosed, and can comprise contacting a silica-coated alumina containing at least 30 wt. % silica with a chromium-containing compound in a liquid, drying, and calcining in an oxidizing atmosphere at a peak temperature of at least 650° C. to form the supported chromium catalyst. The supported chromium catalyst can contain from 0.01 to 20 wt. % chromium, and typically can have a pore volume from 0.5 to 2 mL/g and a BET surface area from 275 to 550 m.sup.2/g. The supported chromium catalyst subsequently can be used to polymerize olefins to produce, for example, ethylene-based homopolymers and copolymers having high molecular weights and broad molecular weight distributions.

This invention relates to a carrier for immobilizing a biocatalyst including a Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 yolk-shell structure, to an immobilized enzyme using the carrier, and to realizing an increase in the stability of the enzyme and stability in organic solvents by cross-linking the enzyme. According to this invention, the carrier for immobilizing a biocatalyst and the enzyme immobilized thereon can be reused, have increased stability, facilitate the control of reactivity, pH, and temperature, and can be widely useful in various biochemical engineering industries.

The invention relates to a process for the hydrodesulfurization of a sulfur-containing olefinic gasoline cut in which said gasoline cut, hydrogen and a rejuvenated catalyst are brought into contact, said hydrodesulfurization process being carried out at a temperature of between 200° C. and 400° C., a total pressure of between 1 and 3 MPa, an hourly space velocity, defined as being the flow rate by volume of feedstock relative to the volume of catalyst, of between 1 and 10 h.sup.−1 and a hydrogen/gasoline feedstock ratio by volume of between 100 and 1200 Sl/l, said rejuvenated catalyst resulting from a hydrotreating process and comprises at least one metal from group VIII, at least one metal from group VIb, an oxide support and at least one organic compound containing oxygen and/or nitrogen and/or sulfur.
