AMMONIA ADSORPTION CATALYST AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
An ammonia adsorption catalyst and a preparation method and a use thereof, where the ammonia adsorption catalyst includes a substrate and an adsorption layer located on the surface of the substrate, and the adsorption layer includes a noble metal-containing zeolite adsorption material. The catalyst has the advantages of high ammonia adsorption/conversion efficiency, low cost, and flexible application, etc.
NITROUS OXIDE REMOVAL CATALYSTS FOR EXHAUST SYSTEMS
A nitrous oxide (N.sub.2O) removal catalyst composite is provided, comprising a N.sub.2O removal catalytic material on a substrate, the catalytic material comprising a rhodium (Rh) component supported on a ceria-based support, wherein the catalyst composite has a H.sub.2-consumption peak of about 100° C. or less as measured by hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H.sub.2-TPR). Methods of making and using the same are also provided.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHOTOCATALYST ELECTRODE FOR WATER DECOMPOSITION
Provided is a method for producing a photocatalyst electrode for water decomposition that exhibits excellent detachability between the substrate and the photocatalyst layer and exhibits high photocurrent density. The method for producing a photocatalyst electrode for water decomposition of the invention includes: a metal layer forming step of forming a metal layer on one surface of a first substrate by a vapor phase film-forming method or a liquid phase film-forming method; a photocatalyst layer forming step of forming a photocatalyst layer by subjecting the metal layer to at least one treatment selected from an oxidation treatment, a nitriding treatment, a sulfurization treatment, or a selenization treatment; a current collecting layer forming step of forming a current collecting layer on a surface of the photocatalyst layer, the surface being on the opposite side of the first substrate; and a detachment step of detaching the first substrate from the photocatalyst layer.
NANODIAMOND SUPPORTED CATALYTIC NANOPARTICLES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A catalytic nanoparticle can include a nanodiamond core, a thin-layer polymeric film applied to an outer surface of the nanodiamond core, and a catalyst immobilized at an outer surface of the thin-layer polymeric film. The nanoparticles can also be used in connection with a transducer to form a sensor. A method of catalysis can include contacting the catalytic nanoparticle with a reactant in a reaction area. The reactant can be capable of forming a reaction product via a reaction catalyzed by the catalyst. The method of catalysis can also include facilitating a catalytic interaction between the catalytic nanoparticle and the reactant.
Composite catalyst and method for manufacturing carbon nanostructured materials
A method of forming a carbon nanotube array substrate is disclosed. One embodiment comprises depositing a composite catalyst layer on the substrate, oxidizing the composite catalyst layer, reducing the oxidized composite catalyst layer, and growing the array on the composite catalyst layer. The composite catalyst layer may comprise a group VIII element and a non-catalytic element deposited onto the substrate from an alloy. In another embodiment, the composite catalyst layer comprises alternating layers of iron and a lanthanide, preferably gadolinium or lanthanum. The composite catalyst layer may be reused to grow multiple carbon nanotube arrays without additional processing of the substrate. The method may comprise bulk synthesis by forming carbon nanotubes on a plurality of particulate substrates having a composite catalyst layer comprising the group VIII element and the non-catalytic element. In another embodiment, the composite catalyst layer is deposited on both sides of the substrate.
Honeycomb catalyst body
The honeycomb catalyst body is equipped with a honeycomb structure body having partition walls that define a plurality of cells extending from a first end face as one of the end faces to a second end face as the other end face and serving as through channels of a fluid. The partition walls each have a base layer containing from 50 to 90 mass % of zeolite and a coat layer with which the surface of the base layer 11 is coated with a thickness of from 1 to 50 μm. The coat layer is either a coat layer (A) containing from 1 to 5 mass % vanadia and titania or a coat layer (B) containing from 1 to 5 mass % vanadia and a composite oxide of titania and tungsten oxide.
COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS COMBUSTION AND EXHAUST SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a compressed natural gas combustion and exhaust system comprising: (i) a natural gas combustion engine; and (ii) an exhaust treatment system, the exhaust treatment system comprising a intake for receiving an exhaust gas from the combustion engine and a catalyst article arranged to receive and treat the exhaust gas, wherein the catalyst article comprises: a substrate having at least first and second coatings, the first coating being free from platinum-group-metals and comprising a copper-containing zeolite having the CHA framework-type and the second coating comprising a palladium-containing zeolite, wherein the first coating is arranged to contact the exhaust gas before the second coating. The present invention further relates to a method and a use.
NOx ADSORBER CATALYST
A NO.sub.x adsorber catalyst and its use in an emission treatment system for internal combustion engines, is disclosed. The NO.sub.x adsorber catalyst comprises a first layer consisting essentially of a support material, one or more platinum group metals disposed on the support material, and a NO.sub.x storage material.
Catalytic converter
A catalytic converter with excellent OSC performance and NO.sub.x purification performance. The converter includes a substrate with a cell structure through which exhaust gas flows, and a catalyst layer formed on a cell wall surface of the substrate. The catalyst layer includes a lower catalyst layer and an upper catalyst layer, the lower catalyst layer being formed on a surface of the substrate, and the upper catalyst layer being formed on a surface of the lower catalyst layer. The upper catalyst layer includes at least a zirconia support with rhodium carried thereon, and two types of ceria-zirconia-based composite oxides with different specific surface areas, each of the ceria-zirconia-based composite oxides having no rhodium carried thereon. The lower catalyst layer includes an alumina support with platinum carried thereon, and a ceria-zirconia-based composite oxide.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFYING CATALYST
The object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst that can achieve high purification performance while suppressing H.sub.2S emissions. The object is solved by an exhaust gas purifying catalyst in which the top layer of a catalyst coating layer comprises a ceria-zirconia composite oxide having a pyrochlore-type ordered array structure, in which the ceria-zirconia composite oxide contains at least one additional element selected from the group consisting of praseodymium, lanthanum, and yttrium at 0.5 to 5.0 mol % in relation to the total cation amount, and the molar ratio of (cerium+additional element):(zirconium) is within the range from 43:57 to 48:52.
