Systems and methods for improving flow in radial flow reactor
A radial flow distribution system, a radial flow reactor, and components thereof, including one or more of a scallop, center pipe, and/or outer basket. Each of the scallop, the center pipe, and the outer basket has openings formed therein. wherein the sizes or the shapes of the openings vary along the length or the width of the reactor components such that the openings define a pattern in configured to manipulate and optimize the distribution of flow of feedstock out of the components and through the reactor to maximize the efficiency of the catalyst reaction thereof.
Cyclic metal deactivation unit design for FCC catalyst deactivation
A cyclic metals deactivation system unit for the production of equilibrium catalyst materials including a cracker vessel configured for cracking and stripping a catalyst material; and a regenerator vessel in fluid communication with the cracker vessel, the regenerator vessel configured for regeneration and steam deactivation of the catalyst material.
Process and reactor for formation and for catalytic conversion of a reactant mixture
A process for forming and for catalytically converting an ignitable gas mixture is proposed, in which at least a first gas or gas mixture comprising oxygen and a second gas or gas mixture comprising one or more oxidizable compounds are mixed to give the ignitable gas mixture, where the ignitable gas mixture is supplied to a reaction zone (12) of a reactor (1). The first gas or gas mixture and the second gas or gas mixture are fed into a mixing chamber (11) having a boundary wall (13) provided with a number of passages (131), where the first gas or gas mixture is fed into the mixing chamber (11) through the passages (131) in the boundary wall (13) and where the second gas or gas mixture is fed into the mixing chamber (11) by means of one or more feed conduits (14) which have feed orifices (141) and extend into the mixing chamber (11). The present invention likewise provides a corresponding reactor (1).
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POWDERED POLYMERS
An apparatus for production of pulverulent polymers having a reactor for droplet polymerization with an apparatus for dropletization of a monomer solution for the preparation of the polymer. The apparatus for dropletization has holes through which the monomer solution is introduced, an addition point for a gas above the apparatus for dropletization, at least one gas withdrawal point at the periphery of the reactor and a fluidized bed, wherein at least one of the following is fulfilled: an apparatus for increasing turbulence in the gas flow is disposed in the region of the apparatus for dropletization of the monomer solution, an apparatus for increasing turbulence in the gas flow is disposed in the region of the addition point for the gas, the addition point for gas is configured such that elevated turbulence is generated.
A process for producing pulverulent polymers, in which an increase in flow turbulence in the gas flow in the region of the apparatus for dropletization also is disclosed.
Fixed bed or moving bed reactors with a radial flow of process stream to be treated, comprising improved internals
The present invention concerns reactors with a radial flow of process stream to be treated comprising improved internals which can be used to minimize the catalytic zones which do not receive any of the process stream which is to be treated. The invention also concerns the use of these radial flow reactors in refining or petrochemical processes.
REACTORS AND SYSTEMS FOR OXIDATIVE COUPLING OF METHANE
In an aspect, the present disclosure provides a method for the oxidative coupling of methane to generate hydrocarbon compounds containing at least two carbon atoms (C.sub.2+ compounds). The method can include mixing a first gas stream comprising methane with a second gas stream comprising oxygen to form a third gas stream comprising methane and oxygen and performing an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) reaction using the third gas stream to produce a product stream comprising one or more C.sub.2+ compounds.
Hydroprocessing reactor internals having reduced height
The hydroprocessing reactor internals (HRI) have reduced height compared to standard HRI designs. The HRI height reduction is achieved by a more open design of a rough liquid distribution tray so that the required spaces above and below the tray for vapor flow are reduced. The hydroprocessing reactor quench zone internals comprise a collection tray, a rough liquid distribution tray, and a vapor-liquid distribution tray. Fluid mixing occurs above both the collection tray and the rough liquid distribution tray.
CATALYTIC REACTOR COMPRISING FIBROUS CATALYST PARTICLES SUPPORT
The present disclosure relates to a reactor containing of catalyst particles, a layer of fibrous catalyst particles support below said catalyst particles and a lower means of structural support below said catalyst particles with the associated benefit of such a reactor having increased space for catalyst particles, compared to a reactor with inert particles supporting the catalyst particles.
STATOR-ROTOR VORTEX CHAMBER FOR MASS AND/OR HEAT TRANSFER PROCESSES
A device for bringing a target medium into contact with a carrier fluid comprises a chamber comprising a circumferential wall, a bottom wall and a top wall forming an enclosure for containing the target medium while contacting the carrier fluid, the chamber being substantially rotationally symmetric with respect to an axis of symmetry and adapted for remaining mechanically static in operation of the device. The device comprises a fluid inlet for injecting the carrier fluid into the chamber in a substantially tangential direction with respect to an inner surface of the circumferential wall, and an outlet. The device comprises a fluid distributor in the chamber for enabling the injected carrier fluid to pass through the distributor in a substantially inward radial direction, the distributor being substantially rotationally symmetric and adapted for rotating around the axis when driven by a transfer of momentum between the injected carrier fluid and the distributor.
